What a very unique experience they have going on here. A very intimate theater inside of a library. I saw John Butler on 5/12/23 and let me just say this was the perfect setting for his incredible talent. The volunteers and staff were very friendly and welcoming. The venue is obviously very old but that is part of the magic. Pay $2 for a little souvenir cup and you can take your beer into the theater. I’m told you can bring the cup back in future visits so keep the lid and straw. The seats are wooden. It wasn’t unbearable but you are allowed to bring a chair pad with you which is nice they allow that. Parking was in the street. I didn’t put money in any meter- honestly I don’t remember if there was one but I arrived about :30 minutes before doors and there were plenty of spots available. There’s a little park right across the street, you can sit in a bench and wait, maybe bring dinner and have a picnic. I traveled about 3ish hours to visit and I absolutely would do it again.
Great built in 1898 hall. Beautiful architecture. Seats are a bit narrow as most old theater seats go. Cone early as parking on street only can be tight at times. Acoustics are great .
I saw The Wallflowers here. I could park relatively close to the library and the neighborhood seemed safe. There were no bad seats in the theater and the sound was clear and balanced. There was a meet-and-greet with the band after the show. It was a good evening out and I'd definitely return.
Went to see a show at Carnegie music hall in homestead last night. This is the view from my highest priced seat, no mention of the obvious obstructed view. This is on the balcony level, Row A, seat 10, aisle seat. These odd gates are installed on the balcony level railing wherever there is an aisle with steps, I suppose to prevent anyone from falling down the steps and ending up over the railing. But, there are a handful of 1st row seats up there where these things will block your view. Maybe reprice those seats or just take them out.
Ok I enjoyed the show I saw here a great deal. Now, this a very old theater in a library on a hill. Built in1898 and you can tell. Good and bad. It's a smaller theater. no bad seats. The seats are all wooden. Take a seat pad if you have trouble with that. First 3 rows have padding. That's to Row B. Parking is all street parking. I got there 45 min before doors opened and parked right in front of door, however there is 2 very tall stair ways you have to go up to enter building. Call first if you can't do stairs I don't know how they handle that. The staff had a 50/50 raffle too. We bought tickets I think $1 each. There is a pipe organ in the corner. That is cool to see. Oh and there's a pizza shop walking distance we ate there first. We didn't walk tho, 18 degrees out. It was very good and cheap,- Mama Pepinos.
The antique wooden seating in the auditorium is beautiful but very uncomfortable to sit on through the duration of the show. Parking also leaves something to be desired, be prepared to circle the surrounding blocks looking for street parking. Otherwise a beautiful and historic asset to the community.
Great small, intimate venue inside Carnegie Library that hosts concerts, comedy and special events. Check out the listing on their website. Beware chairs are wooden to keep the nostalgic feeling of the building.
Attended a concert here. Lovely building, polite, knowledgeable staff, great seats... only draw back: STREET PARKING!Visited onWeekendWait time30–60 minReservation recommendedYesPrice for adult entry$31+
Outstanding small venue to see a show. The place has been really well taken care for an old theater. Parking around the place is available in the neighborhood but tight. Acoustics for a concert were good, seats are old and hard! Limited concessions are available.
One of the best concerts I've attended, Pat Methany. Outstanding to say the least!!!
