Many years ago, Carol and Ralph established their Foundation to facilitate their annual giving. But they also wanted the Foundation to be the steward of their wealth, to ensure the funds would be used to improve the communities they loved and cherished. Upon Ralph’s death in 2007, the Foundation was funded by his estate and we began our journey of developing funding strategies that align with the Hailes’ passions in four areas:
Arts & Culture
We will build on the base of Carol’s involvement with many arts groups to support, develop and expand our rich cultural resources in all corners of our region.
Community Development
Ralph was a cheerleader for revitalization and growth, especially in Northern Kentucky. Inspired by his vision and enthusiasm, we will work to strengthen urban neighborhoods, build a vital workforce and encourage entrepreneurship and innovation.
Education
Our support of Strive, the region-wide initiative to enhance student success from birth through career, is indicative of the broad, systemic change we will fund in the education arena.
Human Services
The Hailes were vigilant about helping to meet basic human needs in the community and aiding families to attain economic stability. We will continue supporting organizations with these goals.
The Carol Ann and Ralph V. Haile, Jr./U.S. Bank Foundation is an independent family foundation dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for residents in Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. We are concentrating our efforts and resources in areas about which Carol and Ralph were most passionate: Arts and Culture, Community Development, Education, and Human Services. We also honor the Hailes’ high regard for and long history with U.S. Bank through our Bank Legacy Initiatives. All of our work is intended to have the greatest impact possible as we, in collaboration with our region’s stakeholders, help lead the way to a strong and vibrant community.
