The Carol Stream Public Library has been helping residents create, search, play and learn for over 50 years.
The whole family is welcome at the Library. Preschoolers enjoy our story times, play area filled with toys, and digital storybooks. School-aged kids love our science experiments, library games, and visiting performers. Teens have a place to study, share their interests, and volunteer. We can help adults learn English as a second language, gain computer skills, take an exercise class, or discover their family history.
Do you want quality entertainment without spending a fortune? We have new and popular DVDs, video games, magazines, books, and music. Prefer a tablet or e-reader? Take advantage of our e-books, e-magazines, audiobooks, and streaming music. Visitors can use our free WiFi and adult and kid-friendly computer labs.

One way in and one way out, this residentially centered library has made the most of the available space. There is a running used book sale right across from the books highlighted each month. All shelves are easy to reach the top shelved books. New books are highlighted by genre, either on the wall or on shelves that are easy to view and reach. The outdoor patio is great to sit in either the sunshine or that shade and listen to birdsong as you relax or read. Snack machines are also available near the circulation desk. Public access computers can be used for designated times. Printing is available as is faxing documents.
Our first time here and we had a lovely time. The staff was very nice and helpful as soon as we walked in. It's very clean and quiet in the evening and our son had a lot of fun with so many activities.
I loved this library as it is absolutely beautiful and clean. It gives you tranquility. I went with my toddler and a baby and I was able to find many activities for both.

This library is so beautiful and modern! From being sooo kid friendly to also having space for those that either work from home to have a meeting space once in a while to being super relaxed reding a book indoors or in the beautiful patio. They also have lots of activities for kids to learn. Definitely A+! The staff is also super friendly and helpful!

I love my favorite library in the world. Huge selection of books, great customer service and renovated kids area. I can spend the whole day being in this beautiful place.
Very peaceful place, love it!!! They have tons of ways to accommodate your needs, quiet room, tables, books etc etc. Thumbs up!!!!
Great library. I miss the big round circular desk when I was a kid 30 years ago.
