Staff have Lack of Communication. They did not contact us at all when our son was there for 2 weeks. I kept calling to get updates, 1 call from the Dr and that was to find out what we can tell him. 1 person called to get Financial and Insurance information. They only called after him being there for 2 weeks, was for us to come pick him up. Did not call to ask us to come in to go over a plan of care. NOTHING. They did not call his psychiatrist to get his records, speak with the Dr or any staff familiar with his care. When we picked him up they did not return or even give him the $20 only amount allowed or lower that we dropped off to him. One of the worst experience. I Pray for Mental Health Healing for ALL.
I’ll give this place two stars just because I am nice. The only positive thing I can say about this place is that I made some new friends that share my problems and we keep in touch, and the staff was nice. The doctor was nice, but did not help me at all. After telling her what meds had helped me the most in the past, she continued to prescribe me many other medications that did not work. Then after those did not work, she recommended me for ECTshock therapy which I now call memory erasing therapy. I was assured that it was safe and effective, bc I had my doubts. I now wish I had gone with my gut feeling. I ended up ending the number of treatments because I could tell the negative effects with no positive ones. I now have problems recalling past events, I have to sit down and really concentrate hard to remember something and even then I sometimes don’t remember. I’ll get up to go do something, then my mind will go completely blank and forget what I was going to do. I’m not saying ECT hasn’t helped others, but it ruined me. I pretended to be better to get out of that place. It barely helped me at all. I still experience thoughts of death, but with the help of Jesus, I am managingHe helped me more than they ever could I can’t even ride by that place, without getting anxious. Now that I’m out they are only worried about getting my moneywhich is the worst money I’ve ever had to spend. You spend that money and expect to get some help. I went to my REAL Doctor afterwards and has helped me tremendously. She actually listened to me when I told her the medications that has helped me most in the past, and surprise! It has helped. She is kind and understanding, and truly wants to help me in every aspect of my life. Life is still not easy and probably will never be thanks to ECT, memory erasing therapy, but with Jesus and friends/family, I will make it. And Carolina center, don’t reply to this saying to contact you, because I do not want to talk to you.
I've been here multiple times for my mental health. And every time, has been exceptional. The staff is amazing, and they actually care about your plan when you leave to go home. Where as other facilities I've been to, no one cared about how I was when I would go back home. I was taught so many great skills while being there also. Thank you Carolina Center. I will always recommend you guys!
I was there last thanksgiving week! There for 7 days and I can’t enough about how well I was treated, especially by Linda who spent a lot of time with me. She understood my PSDC and Alcohol abuse! Linda is Wonderful! Loved all the sessions I went to everyday. Excellent staff. Food was delicious. I can’t say enough about how great this facility is! Again thanks Linda! Bobby Harrison
Personal Rating 3.5 stars. Entered building Tuesday at 10 am. Took until ~1:45 to be fully admitted. Saw several therapists, having to retell the story as to why I was there. Nurses are spectacular. They desperately need more nurses to help speed up the check in process. Group meetings were help 5 times a day. Unfortunately after 5 days, they are repeating themselves, not adding anything to cure your mental health. They are a business, and are very unclear as to when you'll be leaving. One therapist says 3 days of no suicidal thoughts, then the doctor says 7-10 days. If you express any negative thoughtsdepression, crying, anger, etc etc, you're automatically kept an extra day or so. So they tell you to express your feelings, but are punished for expressing your feelings. All in all, I was helped, but grew tiresome of the repeated lessons. They need to have the stays at 5 days, up to more, for more severe casses.
I am so thankful for this place! It really taught me a lot about boundaries and that by eating healthy and leaning into Jesus I am more than a conqueror! Special shout out to Carry who simply has the biggest heart of them all! Thank you to Patrick and Victoria for always making sure things were done correctly and efficiently!
I was there for depression issues, I learned a lot in the therapy sessions, not only on the topics but also about myself as well. The therapists there really do teach and care about you as a person, the techs are there for your safety and everyone else’s and they have a hard job. Thank you Jamie in Unit 5 and the staff at The Carolina Center for helping me and being there. Thank You
I showed up for a ten day program and was told within seconds of arriving that I had violated dress code by wearing shorts. That information was not disclosed to me before starting. Lowest point of my entire life and needing help desperately and I was turned away because of shorts. Ridiculous
I have to say that I was so reluctant and scared to go here at first. I was in so much pain and I needed help. I thought that I was going to in patient but my assessment led me to outpatient care. The staff was so incredibly thoughtful, kind and respectful. They helped me save my life. I learned so much. I made some awesome friends. Group therapy was non-judgmental and a safe place to open up. Thank you all so much!
My dad has to pay $500 a month now because I was here for 5 days and we already dont have any money. It didn't even help reduce my suicidal thoughts being here, I thought I was gonna shoot myself as soon as I got out. These places cost thousands of dollars to put you in a room and color while teaching you thing you could learn from a google search. Whoever made this place just made my life worse
