Hello friends. I invite you to browse and enjoy a new website CarolinaWaterFun.com and its companion Facebook page /NCwildhorses which is dedicated to sharing unique, original photographs and artworks of the NC Wild Horses and the beaches they roam. I intend this to also foster interest in learning about and assisting in the preservation of the local heritage and culture that the wild horses are so much a part of and have infused with a special connection.
Carolina Coastal Maritime Adventures practices, supports and encourages the preservation, conservation and protection of all resources natural and cultural at the Cape Lookout National Seashore
These wild horses represent a free and independent spirit that is emblematic of our colonial and pioneering days. The wild horses continue to live and roam as they have done for nearly 400 years. Few other places on this continent offer us the opportunity to view this level of raw living and to be a part of the modern co-dependency. To glimpse these wild horses playing, foraging and socially interacting on the open salt-marshes and in the maritime forests is to observe a very special existence that profoundly impacts our sense of self and shines a bright light on an almost forgotten past way of life.
Operating as “Carolina Coastal Maritime Adventures” I seek to capture the NC Wild Horses in their wilderness element and to bring images of their natural behavior to as many interested viewers as possible. Our Facebook page NCWildhorses will keep you up to date on new photographs, videos, cultural history research and field trips to observe and photograph. You are invited to submit your pictures, observations and related stories. Our images will be available from our web site CarolinaWaterFun.com. Adventurers can also plan and schedule personalized field trips on our boat to selected NC barrier islands and guided photo shoots to discover wild horses on the Cape Lookout National Seashore, Shackleford Banks, the Rachel Carson Reserve, the Crystal Coast & enjoy sightseeing along the Beaufort and Morehead City NC waterfronts.
