Carolyn's Tax & Accounting Service

Not sure how she stays in business. Carolyn took 5 weeks to do our taxes, she charged us 240.00 and was not available to respond to phone calls over the weekend regarding urgent matters. We were notified by the IRS that we had an over pay of 4,000.00 due to an oversight on Carolyn's part. Evidently she provides the service of sending in pre-payments to the IRS through her office and in her own word, "does not keep track of any of that." So she has no idea what transactions take place. She cannot recognize a standard form letter over the phone, and she does not take responsibilities for her mistakes. If you value your hard earned money, stay far far away from this business.

I would strongly advise against using this service. My daughter brought her tax information to have them processed here a few years ago. She had just bought a duplex and we felt that her taxes should be done by a professional. She received her envelope containing her results a few days before April 15th and when we looked at them, we knew something was very wrong. The person who processed them did so without ever seeing my daughters mortgage statement or property tax information. My daughter had forgotten to include that in her information. She called them and was told that they were processed just fine. We ended up scrambling to get them done in time properly and my daughter was out the $200 she paid them. We called them several times to get her money refunded for the shoddy work and there was always an excuse as to why they couldn't act on a refund Carolyn's not here...etc.. Don't waste your money.

If I could write zero stars I would. We were advised she was a good tax reference through a mutual party and in fact she was not. We are now undergoing a MAJOR tax audit by the IRS and she has went silent on us. Many records that were given to her during the period of tax filing 2014, 2015, and 2016 have magically disappeared and are not available most were originals with no copies available and she is not willing to cooperate. She fictitiously made up multiple numbers she felt were convenient and has offered no explanation. She is a horrible tax preparer and although she said should we ever undergo and audit she would offer audit protection she has forced us to hire another accounting firm to assist in the IRS audit and even the auditor can't figure out where the numbers came from after everything we gave to Carolyn and her tax service was pretty straightforward. I have gone so far as to show E-mail records with attachments to the IRS auditor and she can't believe her eyes on our tax returns. DO NOT do your taxes here and if you have in the past I suggest hiring another firm ASAP!
