always nice staff and everyone there working keeps it clean and up to date, much more on the smaller size but it’s a great place to sit down and relax, there’s work stations there if you need a computer and chairs if you need a place to sit. area for kids on the left of the entrance and right there’s a place for adults. downstairs is a place for meetings just call in advance just to make sure and events all through out each month. very underrated make sure to check it out :
In response to others on here... 1. Other libraries I have been to also put books on hold on a shelf. You go over to the shelves, look up your last name, find your books, then go check them out. It isn't personal. They have changed how they do things. They have been doing that for years in other libraries. 2. The staff is making you get earbuds if you are making noises? Yay!!!! The library is supposed to be quiet. You should be respectful of others. It is great to know that they enforce respect here. It makes me want to come here. I am looking forward to it.
I like this library because it has a nice room for the kids. I would give 5 stars but identity politics don't belong in the library. Especially in the kid's library.
Clean and quiet. There was a lady there who decided that singing out loud while watching YouTube videos was a good idea...but what what can you do. Alexa...add sound proof headphones to my Amazon cart.
Would give 5 stars but today it fell a bit short. After waiting patiently in line while 2 clerks were busy, the clerk on the right states "whos next"? I walked up and advised her I would like to return 2 books and I have a pick up. She said for an audio book or? I said a book. She responded "well all holds are over there and you can just find your book by name." I was confused because thats NEVER happened. So as I go over searching for a bookas if I work there and she comes over, finds it immediately, and hands it to me. Then she says "Oh i have to check that out". I said thats normally how its done, you guys just grab it and get me out the door. When shes done she says to the white couple behind me: "Im so sorry for the wait, how can I help you?". Well I didnt know grabbing the books on hold and checking me out was a wait. Her tone was very unpleasant as if I was a bother. Maybe she was having a long day but theres no excuse.
Always friendly, clean... and did you know you can print I believe 100 pages a month for free!
Great people work there. It's always clean and quiet. Great atmosphere...
I’m here right now & the staff gestures and huffing & puffing & stomping sounds really impatience and unprofessional. This is the second time coming here & they have appeared rude. The first time I came early this month I was trying to get staff attention and the lady who was putting up books totally ignored me. I would not recommend goin to this library. This is my first and worst library experience and some staff development would be suggested.
If you like stereotypical librarians, this is the library for you. If you can't be quiet on the computer, they will try to make you buy headphones for a dollar. So bring your own headphones so you don't have to spend $1.00. And they will gossip about you more than your grandmother.
Great little library on the south side. Beautiful architecture. Very helpful Liberians. Probably one of the last libraries in St.Louis where folks are quite and respectful of others. Even the occasional dirty, stinky bums mind their manners.
