Carothers made my mother's funeral a beautiful and uplifting experience. The service was excellent and the professionalism was fantastic. The value of the package provided was phenomenal. They walked me through every step of the process and ensured I did not miss anything. I highly recommend Carothers if you have need of a funeral home. Thank you Donald, Mandy and Jas!!!
Carothers went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied every step of the way with my husbands service and funeral. They truly care about each and everyone of their customers it’s like your family from day one!! Thank you Donald, Mandy and staff for everything
Donald G. was extremely helpful, kind, and knowledgeable on this difficult experience we had to deal with. He went well above accommadatig us with our special requests we had. Mandy W. also took time to help with extra accommodations and was great.
First off, I will say that Carothers is DEFINITELY on the expensive side with everything they offer. My father in law was taken here when he passed in October 2021 & there were some hassles with payment. It's a long story with a lot of drama but long story short or, as short as I can make it , a lady friend of my FIL's took his will and his life insurance paperwork as she was looting the rest of his house of valuables the day before he passed he was in a coma and held the paperwork for 4 weeks while we were trying to figure out how to pay for the services. We knew he had life insurance policies & we knew he had plans for us to use that to cover the funeral expenses. We also knew she had them, as did Carothers, because she'd taken them to the office & tried planning the funeral on her own without any of the families input or permission. Because this became an issue & Carothers could see there was something fishy going on, they wouldn't let us make any plans or take any further steps until they received the life insurance paperwork & had their legal team look it over. When it was all said and done, my FIL spent a month in the "cooler" at the funeral home, not embalmed and because of that, his body looked too bad to have an open casket. It would have been great if they'd have offered us anything, a lower cost option or something, instead of us sitting on our thumbs for a month waiting for a thief to bring them a life insurance policy. There were a couple things outside of that that I believe they could have handled better than they did but, in the end almost 6 weeks after he passed, he did have a very nice service and a beautiful casket.
Staff was very responsive. Really made an effort to make our experience stress free. We appreciated the personal support and their many efforts to make our experience unique to our family. Donald Gloege was just wonderful and I will always remember his kindness.
Overall service was good but carrying my loved in a dirty vehicle is unacceptable. The lady at the front is quite rude and shows the overall approach to the family when the service is complete. Apparently people don't matter to this location.
Making arrangements for a loved one is an emotionally difficult time. We used Carothers Funeral home in Stanley, NC. We’re thankful to Donald for helping make the process easy and for his compassion and understanding. I highly recommend Carothers to assist other families with talking care of their loved ones.
I was 100% pleased with the way I was treated and the way my family was treated. I was amazed at the extra effort that was put in the simple things like the sign in book the arrangements and constantly reminding me of things I needed to do and believe me I needed a Lot of reminding. My family was very happy with the way everything turned out. The location of the funeral home was another thing I liked and it made things a lot easier. Everyone I had contact with at the funeral home was very professional.
When my father passed away, Donald Gloege and his assistant took very good care of me. He is a very patient and compassionate man. This was the second time that I had been helped by Lindsay at Carothers. She even called several weeks later to check on our family. The sound of her voice is so sweet.
My Aunt Elaine Labott passed away on March 15, 2021. Stan Stone, the funeral director and Tabatha who helps with the cemetery arrangements were fantastic. Stan explained all of the options and our Memorial Service and burial went seamlessly. Thanks Stan and Tabatha for a wonderful experience thru a trying time. Everything was handled very professionally in a most caring way!! Thanks from our entire family.
