The community that runs the fire station are some of the best people. Between the fun events Santa riding through on a fire engine, to fundraisers they constantly have something g going on. Stop in and grab a t-shirt, or just say hello.
Stayed in Carova for the first time this year. Great and comforting to know there is help near by in the event of an emergency, especially since we are so far from a local hospital or urgent care. Thank you to those who work here. Also very nice to see from other reviews that some ice cream and merch can be purchased here.
We love CBVFR! We vacation is Carova twice a year, and always knew the department was there. It wasn't until this last April that we stopped in to have a look at their t-shirt selection. AMAZING! A variety of shirts/sweatshirts that are WAY better quality than the touristy stores that i won't mention. We stopped by again this October and purchased hoodies. The staff there are very nice and welcoming. I didn't realize they sell ice, water, cold drinks and ice cream as well. That is good to know! We are looking to build a beach house in Carova next year and it is nice to know that the department is there if ever needed.
Every year we visit the Outer Banks and take the 4x4 horse tour at least twice each visit. The tour runs through Carova north of the end of the paved road. One of the highlights of the tour is driving through Carova by the Fire House and the helipad for the community. The area has no paved roads, use of a 4 wheel drive is required. Very interesting area that seems to thrive in the hard conditions.
Great people here. We stopped by the station to have them check out Our infants temperature last. Today they came by to check on him! Very nice and helpful people.
