POST / COMMENT REMOVAL POLICY
The Carrboro Police Department Facebook page was created to facilitate the exchange of information with the public at large. To promote such exchange, CPD encourages and welcomes postings and comments from the general public about issues related to the Town of Carrboro operations. With that said, CPD and the Town of Carrboro reserves the right to regulate the content of, and where necessary, delete completely, any objectionable entry that appears on its fan page. Furthermore, Facebook users found to be in violation of this policy may be permanently blocked from posting comments to the CPD page. The Carrboro Police Department is responsible for monitoring all postings to its Facebook page and may take appropriate action whenever necessary, and at its sole discretion, to protect other page visitors from inappropriate or otherwise harmful information and links.
To that end, the CPD will remove as soon as possible any postings that include (but at not limited to): advertisements of any kind, obscenities, off-topic comments, personal attacks, conduct implying, promoting, or encouraging illegal activity, or information that might compromise the safety or security of the public, and any other posting that, by its nature or content, might harm public welfare.
