LIfe in all of its joyful abundance in the Carrollton Riverbend Neighborhood of New Orleans, Louisiana, USA.
THE NEIGHBORHOOD: "Carrollton" is the name of an official United States Historic District of New Orleans that was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.
The 'official' Carrollton Historic District stretches roughly from Earhart Boulevard on the north to the Mississippi River on the south, and from Broadway (officially Lowerline Street) on the east and the parish line on the west.
But OUR definition of "The Carrollton Riverbend Neighborhood Community" area uses a slightly different (but not by much, see above) geographical description based upon how most of the residents feel regarding "where they live" and "what neighborhood" they live in or do business in or go to school in, or can walk/bike to easily, et cetera.
Basically, it matters not. If you love this area OR live in it, you're a part of the CRNC, period. But we wanted you to know we're "official" as a historic district well as being a heartfelt area that lives in our hearts, minds, and most importantly, souls ...
ENOUGH WITH LITERAL "LOCATION" - HERE'S WHAT WE BELIEVE :
We gather as a community of neighbors to explore, discover, and share ways to improve our quality of life. How you FEEL about our Carrollton Riverbend area is the most important thing.
We hope you will visit this site regularly and contribute posts about your experiences living in or visiting the Carrollton Riverbend area. Because above all, a neighborhood is not a collection of locations, but of people, and the spirit of community that flourishes in their hearts, minds, and souls. Please join our community (by "liking" our page) and share this spirit with your neighbors !
But please refrain from using this site for commercial purposes only or for posting items that may injure or offend someone else. We want to encourage doing business locally (and invite recommendations & reviews! ), but don't want this site to become a billboard, blasting away with shrill call-to-action posts. You know the difference. Think of the way PBS and NPR do this. That being said, reviews and referrals are welcomed and appreciated. Share away !
