The Carson Volunteer Fire Department was founded in 2010 to protect the lives and dwellings of those living on the Rio Grande West Rim of Taos County, New Mexico. Before being recognize by the state we trained and still support the Ojo Caliente Fire Dept.
This page was created to help support and network the Carson Volunteer Fire District with its many diversed communities of the Rio Grande West Rim. The West Rim is unique rural area in northern New Mexico. Many of our fire fighters are trained to assist the fire fighters of the National Forest Service and have been called to other areas and even other states. Our extended range is from Ojo Caliente to the South to Colorado boarder to the North.
Our Mission is to serve the communities of the Rio Grande West Rim. To do our very best to save lives and property whenever possible. To help with community fire safety and to provide resources on this page. We encourage others to do the same.
