Under the umbrella of the Carthage R9 school district, the Carthage Technical Center was established in 1965. The Tech Center offers programs for secondary, post-secondary, and community education. Secondary has a strong history in their long-standing programs: Agriculture, Business, Carpentry, Computer Information Technology, Drafting, Family & Consumer Science, and Machining. In more recent years, secondary has added Criminal Justice, Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), Digital Electronics, Fire Science, Medical Assisting, Pharmacy Tech, and Project Lead the Way. Post-secondary programs include the Practical Nursing Program. Through Community Education, CTC offers classes in many areas, such as technical, computers, foreign language, and health sciences. CTC can also assist with training for area organizations and businesses.
The mission of the Carthage Technical Center is based upon the belief that all people should have the opportunity to prepare themselves for gainful employment and thereby live democratic, useful, and satisfactory lives.
