Great spot at a historic location, walking distance of all the important sites. We prefer this location over other spots in the city for several reasons, but one of them being noise, this place does not have as much foot traffic and car traffic right outside its windows as some of the other options. Being that my wife and I have been coming to this area for Decades together, we have stayed in just about every hole-in-the-wall and fancy hotel available in the town. and this still remains one of our top picks. It is not perfect, but it is just the right amount of awesome for us that makes its price generally acceptable to us.
We were excited upon our arrival to stay at this hotel. We love St Augustine and wanted to spend our wedding anniversary there. Once we entered the room it had an attractive appearance. The 1st day we were in the room we started to notice discrepancies. We understand that this is a theme hotel to correlate with St. Augustine’s history and appearance. Here is a list of concerns: Broken end table lamp Smoke alarm was missing above the bed Shower was totally plugged amidst a pool of water when finished Carpet had foul aroma Couch and chair were stained Room phone was old by design, but had no directions how to operate it without a handset cord. The restaurant food menu was extremely limited & unappealing. We were hungry and wanted something to eat so we order a meatball starter which was fair at best. Although there are many restaurants in the area , I was limited to my walking due to a leg disability. After expressing concern to front desk, it was received with negative professionalism and sarcastic response. When making reservations it was not disclosed that there was a $35 a day charge for valet parking. Upon checkout I was informed they’re system had been down all night and they would email me a receipt however they did not ask me how our stay was or thank me. Overall we were uncomfortable in our stay and did not want to spend our anniversary like this. Hotels should be the least of our worries. We thought this would be the best hotel experience but unfortunately it was just the opposite. We live in Miami and immensely enjoy St. Augustine and will be back, however we will not be staying at Casa Monica again or recommending it. When you pay more you expect more
Historic building, absolutely beautiful decor. The hotel staff were were all professional. My room was clean and beds were super comfortable. Had lots of towels, spacious bathroom. On the hotel grounds is also a beautiful art gallery, you can't help but gaze. In walking distance of everything. When back in the area, will definitely book another stay.
Wonderful hotel! Right in the middle of downtown at Augustine, but we had no issue with noise at night. We stayed here last year for our wedding and came back for our anniversary, the staff is great and very responsive. Cristina Z. At the front desk and Christian in the bar in particular made our experience amazing! The only thing that’s worth noting is that the valet can take a lot of time to come around, so you may want to stay inside
Always a great location to stay while in st Augustine. Valet parking is a must and that can slow things down a bit but a really great hotel with friendly staff. Rooms are a bit smallish but not unusual for a historic hotel such as this. During the summer you get club privileges at a local beach club as well. Good value. We will always be back!
Beautiful hotel in a wonderful location. Right in the middle of everything, staff was friendly and the food and drinks were great. But, the rooms were not in great shape. Below is a picture of a towel i used to wipe my feet after walking from the shower to my bed and then to the fridge and back. The room is filthy, the floor is absolutely disgusting. I have stayed in cleaner motel 9’s then this. We rented 3 rooms for our different family members. All rooms were absolutely filthy. There is no excuse.
Beautiful hotel in the heart of St Augustine! If the beautiful Spaniard architecture and art wasn’t enough to draw you in, the staff should! If you stay here definitely look for Caitlin! She is the absolute best! She completely changed our experience and made our stay so much more special. We came for our honeymoon but will definitely be back for our anniversary because of the wonderful experience she gave us! She made sure we had the best experience she could give us and upgraded our room. Not only was she so sweet throughout our stay she also made sure we had everything we needed. The room service is absolutely to die for! We even got sent a complimentary dessert which was so kind of them! We will definitely be back! THANK YOU CAITLIN!
All staff were nice. Food was great and the rooms were spacious and clean. Right in the heart of the historic old town so everything was walking distance. Cobalt lounge had great food and again they were very nice. We didn’t try the restaurant because they stated that you needed “slacks”…hey this is Florida and I always have shorts when it’s in the 80s!
We had a wonderful stay at Casa Monica, beautiful hotel in the very heart of St Augustine, we were able to walk everywhere. The guest service and care here is outstanding from every member of hotel staff we met. A special thank you to Savanna who’s professionalism was exceptional, she went above and beyond to help us with a room change during a very busy holiday weekend. The food quality at the restaurant is high we enjoyed two excellent dinners here, thank you to the manager who took great care of us and found our family a great table on a fully booked evening.
The best of the best! Start with pulling into the little hidden vallet desk. You know what it means when you see it. Yes you can drive in there. The hotel is five stars from service to ambiance. We had the opportunity to stay in St. Francis suite which is an amazing two floor sleeps six amazing. Mom and dad get their own adult time during vacation while the two queen beds below keep everyone happy. The pool and hot tub area is well kept, quiet, and just right for a quick dip. The bar is top notch with an upper shelf selection. All the shops just around the hotel are fun to shop. Be sure to find the "Forgotten Tonic" just down the block for dinner. Enjoy the stay while you enjoy St. Augustine!
