This was my first time going hiking and I liked it. I didn’t like the bugs but I liked the walk. We definitely got lost but eventually found our way around by just fallowing the blue tree stamps and hoping we are going to get out soon. My puppy loved it and she recommends 100%.
It was nice, I didn't actually walk any of the trails because there were too many trees blocking the view of the sky and I like vibrant walks, the trees blocking the sky made it too dark for me. Plus the bugs eat me alive and I had forgot my bug spray. But it was nice, the little bit I did see. There were a decent amount of people there too.
Have bug spray or get eaten alive. There's spiders everywhere! But beautiful place to be. Dogs allowed. Dog-friendliness: On leash
FOR THOSE CONFUSED ON DIRECTIONS: the maps and the indicators on the trail itself are not accurate. We started on the west parking lot and yet the map first image told us we were located on the East side. We realized later on that the cascading waters we thought we would reach at the end were actually the waters we saw within the first 10 minutes. We didn’t take an image of the map which was a mistake but the directions seemed simple enough. We would take the blue circles until we hit the orange squares. Luckily we pulled up a review with the map but immediately got confused. The “north” on the map was actually our “west” and we were turning right rather than the left the map told us we would. We get to the east side parking lot, look at the map and realize it has the same “you are here” indicator as the one on the map where we started. And to get back, the map showed yellow rectangles but the marks on the trees were white triangles. Overall, the trail itself was okay, but the experience of feeling like we were going insane trying to figure out where we were and how to get back to our car took away from the experience. I’ve placed 3 images of different maps we saw at different points on the trail. The two that are the same are both in east and west parking lots, but with the actual orientation of the trails, they are more like north and south parking lots. Hopefully this helps others who are likewise confused. Beside the directional criticisms, this was a nice trail that took us about an hour to get through. The cascading waters were a slight letdown since there wasn’t much water.
Pretty well marked trails through the woods. We walked the cascade trail today. From reviews I expected easier, but I suppose that's relative. It's fairly steep in spots with roots and rocks. I'm 74 and still kind of working on rehabbing, but I made it. Trekking poles might help. Very few hand holds for the unsteady. Bug repellant! And water.
GPS to cascades park. Or the cascade. Dead end parking on cataract st. Falls are right off the street. There is only flowing water after rain. Other wise will be dried up. Very beautiful place. Plenty of trails to wander off to.
Very very short hike. Not enough water in the falls. But it’s beautiful
Nice woodsy area with a waterfall, when there is abundant rain, areas can be rocky/slippery use caution when hiking the trails
Not a bad walk in the woods. Mild wild life, got two chipmunks and a fat gardersnake. Would love to spend some time digging into the old dump. My daughter and I had a great time. Stay on the path if you have shorts on, lots of poison ivy.
Was a nice hike that got your heartrate up. The stuff we saw along this big loop was definitely something that trail cameras should be added. Camera locations should be at the top of the falls to keep people accountable for leaving trash, at the end of the trail past the bridge at the bottom of the falls to keep what should be behind closed doors adult activities also at the parking lot at Boynton park, and then the bridge itself to keep young adults parking and smoking marijuana while they are facing the entrance along with the cars parked doing bedroom stuff so they can stop if they see law enforcement coming.
