Brasserie Cassis Came here with a friend to try out the Long Island French scene. As others have pointed out, it's located in a shopping plaza. But once you come in, you'd never know. It reminded me of local places in Paris. French postersoin the wall. Cute things like a little pig hanging from a wall. It happened to be restaurant week so it was a great excuse to have a 3 course meal. The salad was very delicious - fresh greens, red beets, bright vinaigrette, blue cheese Gorgonzola?, and candied walnuts. For main I had the hangar steak which came out tender and tasty with a side of scalloped potatoes and sauteed spinach. They wouldn't let me sub fries for the potatoes but I guess for restaurant week... And for dessert I had the profiterole with vanilla gelato and chocolate sauce. It was good. But my friend got the apple tart ? which was superb. There was literally 1 piece of bread per person but that was really good bread with ramekins of really creamy butter and some kind of pate. The food was great and the service was efficient. Would like to go back and try their regular menu.
How is it that I'm only finding this place now, it's been open for over a decade. This place is very similar to Brasserie Les Halle in Manhattan with great ambiance, great Bistro style food, and fantastic service. Escargot was unique with butter and pesto, use the bread to mop up the sauce. Steak Tartare was a generous portion with a smooth texture. Chevre Chaud salad was really unique. Beef Bourguignon, Sole Meuniere, and The Hamburger are all great. The Frites could use a little bit more seasoning, but they were good. Ask the bartender for a Tyme Traveler, you won't be disappointed. Clean facilities with a wheelchair accessible entrance. We will definitely be going back. For a Long Island restaurant, I'm giving 5 Stars..
Delicious food, excellent service,, small servings with explosion of flavor.Clean and nice decor.Edith Piaf would have enjoyed dining here!
Very friendly and family like environment. Food and service was really good.
I was at Cassis last night with my daughter and had a wonderful time. The manager John makes sure you are comfortable and satisfied with the place and the service. The food is excellent along with the ambiance. They had a prime rib special which was excellent. There is also an excellent choice of wines. I highly recommend this restaurant to my friends and family. I intend to return in the future they are planning on having live entertainment.
Wonderfully charming! This Restaurant has an classical french look, charming designs and elegant little touches make this feel very homely and warm. The food is moderately priced for decent portions; However the plates are outstanding! Amy was our server and was extremely friendly and down to earth. Ryan, the manager, paired our meals with wines and did an excellent job. Friendly Service, Amazing Food, and Charming Atmosphere made the entire experience is simply wonderful. Please go take someone special when you eat here.
Just got home from a great meal!! We have been coming to this restaurant since they opened. The manager, Amy, handled a slight mix up in a most professional manner. We ordered the Cassis salad, sandwiches, onion soup, lobster mac and cheese and I ordered the pork chop which was cooked perfectly. Don't miss this restaurant. It will become a favorite for you too.
I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars. First the food was great but that's definitely not the highlight of this location. The STAFF was absolutely amazing. They were extremely attentive and catered to my group as if we were the only ones in the restaurant. John our server and Olson the bartender I could rate both of you guys individually as 5 stars. Your personality and your customer service alone made up for anything that could have gone awry. John the manager made sure we knew who he was incase we needed anything. Overall definitely a pleasant experience, my girls had an awesome brunch and it was just good vibes and ambiance all around. Thank you!!
I have been going to this Brasserie once a week for about 10 years starting with Ryan and now with John as manager. I enjoy the atmosphere, the congeniality, the quality of the French inspired food and excellent wine selection by the glass. The staff is pleasant and eager to please
The escargot and the frog legs were excellent. The French onion soup was the best I ever had and this is my favorite soup. My entrée was the pork and it was excellent. The service was good and the atmosphere was nice but very noisy, it was Friday night and by seeing all the people coming and going this restaurant has a very good reputation . 5 stars without a doubt.
