This is so much more than just a museum! The Cass County Historical Society has put together a fantastic complex of historical building on this gigantic site! Every building has its own story with several dedicated to specific displays. One building houses law enforcement memorabilia. Another is dedicated to firefighters, their apparatus & lifestyle. Some of the building were moved to the site from all over the area! My favorite by far that the airplane building. It’s not got the most of the best displays but it’s the only place I’ve ever been able to walk through a C-47!! We were there for four hours and didn’t see it all. Well worth the price of admission. It’s a must for anyone interested in the history of the Red River Valley.
Cute historical museum with focus primarily on American experience. I love that you can explore at your own pace and it was not very crowded when we went. Our favorite part was the old school telephones that actually worked and seeing the setups of how people used to live back in the day.Wait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Interesting place! I think it has seen better days, but over all it's still a good stop for the sake of history. There is a facinating small courthouse and if you enjoy old tractors and other farm equipment this is the place for you! Enjoy!
We were attending an International Tourism event and part of our tour was a visit to Bonanzaville. A step back in time and the townsfolk we met were real characters and just added to the experience. Our travelling companion 'Bike Bear' @bikerbearaus had a great time meeting such friendly people.
We didn't realize they were in the off season now, so most of the exhibits and buildings were closed. It was free to see what was available though. The exhibits we did see were very nice, with excellent, informative signage. I would definitely like to go back in the regular summer season and see what else there is to see.
Lots of nostalgic items here, food and pies , butter making, music, old first buildings, train rides,, tractor parade,, threshing, antique vehicles and planes,, lots of history. Would recommend a whole day to see it allVisited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$11–15
Bonanzaville is the best way to get to know the past of the Red River Valley. Meandering around and through the historic buildings and seeing all the artifacts was amazing. They have a fantastic antique car collection. So worth the stop!
Such a great place for a family day out, they have a incredible amount of artifacts ranging from early native American, to a real helicopter used in the Vietnam War, real recreated vintage homes, saloon, firehouse and so very much more. All the staff were so friendly. We were very impressed, and the kids loved exploring, I would highly recommend this place and look forward to visiting again. Brilliant day out.
This is a really cool place! lots of neat stuff to look at! so much history! I kinda wish some stuff would be better maintained such as the cars and tractors but it's still pretty cool. I'd recommend visiting this place since in my opinion, it's worth the $12 or however much you'd pay for admission. 10/10, would visit again.Visited onWeekdayReservation recommendedNot surePrice for adult entry$11–15
Wish I could have stayed here much longer to see all of the exhibits! This was a great stop we made. I do wish there were a bit more items at the gift shop to choose from. Bathrooms were clean and staff was friendly. My favorite part was the classic car museum.
