I recently gave birth at this hospital and had the most amazing experience. Our nurse Jen was extremely helpful in checking our baby to make sure he was healthy before he went home. We ended up having to have our baby go to the NICU for a couple days and we had the most amazing nurse Olivia who helped get our baby back to 100% before we were discharged. We truly appreciated all of the help and amazing care that we received while at this hospital.
I recently gave birth to my first the beginning of June and let me just say that this was the absolute best experience I have ever had in a hospital! Every nurse was absolutely amazing but the two that I remember whole heartily are Brooke and Anna. They were just absolutely amazing at walking me through labor and listening to every concern I had. Not once did I feel like I was ignored or brushed off. Not once did I feel a cold shoulder or made feel insecure in anything. We were there for four days and never did we feel abandoned or alone. My husband, my baby and I made it home happy and healthy thanks to the amazing staff in the birthing center.
We were here for our first child, and we always loved our OB/GYN team, but I cannot find words to describe how happy we were with the labor and delivery nurses here. It is a hospital floor full of angels! The absolute best experience, we had a tough time and they made every little thing better! I hope that we get to have more kids here. We were her for a while so specifically Sarah, Amanda, Brianne 3 shifts!, Melanie, Sheri and Mikaela.
I went to CRAH for some planned minor surgery. I was met by a volunteer who took me right to check in. I was then escorted to the surgery floor and within about fifteen minutes of my arrival, I was all set up and prepped to go. The entire staff was well organized and efficient. I cannot recall any medical appointment that was so well organized. Highest compliments to the entire team.
My wife and I were both extremely happy and satisfied with the labor and delivery unit at Castle Rock Adventist. Every single nurse and employee went above and beyond to make my wife’s stay a wonderful experience. The nurses and staff were all helpful, attentive, and provided us with more educational insight than we could have ever expected. It also didn’t hurt that the food during our stay was also amazing. We highly recommend Castlerock Adventist and their staff.
The emergency room is not great. The doctors and nurses are dismissive and not friendly. I had a painful IV in my arm it hurt so much that I couldn’t move my arm. It left bruising and bled a lot. When I told the nurse she didn’t take me seriously said it’s supposed to be like that. When I know it’s not I had it done before it had never been like that. I was unable to sit up or walk and the nurses just left for 30+ minutes with the door wide open, people staring at me, and no call button within reach. My doctor stood outside the door and talked to me in a rush barely giving any answers and I had to ask to see him again before he actually gave me an explanation. Among other experiences I don’t like this ER.
I went to the hospital after eating in a cafe and eight hours later becoming violently sick and increasingly dehydrated throughout the night. I received fluids and asked for a fecal test to confirm food poisoning. The doctor she/her/them refused and said "95% of these things are viruses." I told her it was important because I'm sure I wasn't the only one to get sick from the work cafeteria and the food service provider needed to be made aware if they are doing things wrong. Didn't matter. This DO was not at all concerned about public health. I also could hear the nurses laughing and carrying on but none would come help me when I needed help using the restroom. So, I removed my IV and BP cuff and went to the bathroom on my own. I've since put a card in the window of my wallet, "Do NOT take me to Castle Rock Hospital; they will not treat me. Take me to Sky Ridge or anywhere else." Horrible people, criminal-like service. Folks, avoid them like the plague. I I told
Wife went in to get her meds adjusted and was placed on a 72 hour hold. It took them exactly three hours to decide to place her in the worst rated psychiatric facility in Denver over an hour away. They were callus and cruel, when she began to panic at the news that she would be medically kidnapped they immediately made me leave instead of allowed me to comfort her. They were threatening and cruel in how they carried out their job. As I walked out several staff members were mocking her and laughing out loud about her screams of terror and pain. She could hear their laughter as her screams echoed off the walls, for a schizophrenic that is a nightmare. With all that terror she gets to hear some maintenance worker and the man responsible for transporting her laugh loudly and mock her. They did this right in front of me as I walked out, at 1 am in the emergency room July 6th. I have never experienced seen staff behave like such Neanderthals in any facility she has ever been in. To those men, those boys masquerading as men, I say your mothers raised some real punks. Grow up if you want to work in the medical field, disgusting behavior do better.
Our little 3 year old grandson had a medical emergency and luckily, with the quick thinking of his mom and the awesome team from Castle Rock, our little guy is still here with us. The team was quick with how they dealt with everything and the helicopter EMT were fantastic. After they were able to stabilize him and he was up and awake, he was not only scared but also did not want any medical staff near him. The 2 helicopter EMT guys were great at trying to calm him down and were very patient at explaining what they were doing so his little 3 year old mind could comprehend what was happening. We are so grateful for the entire team and everyone who helped with the dire situation.
I arrived with a head injury. My husband rushed me to the ER as we felt it was an urgent situation. I arrived holding a blood soaked towel on my head just to be told to “have a seat”. I was crying in pain and bleeding and a nurse came out to ask me my pain level but didn’t even look at the head wound and then continued to leave me waiting in the lobby. The only person who showed any level of concern was the security guard who checked on me asked what was going on and brought me a wheel chair. When I was finally brought into ER I was shown zero compassion. I was not given any discharge instructions. I had to ask if I could wash my hair, if I could drive, where my prescription was sent. Overall a very negative and disappointing experience. I do have to recognize the the security guard who checked in after I was brought back to ER and was the only person I encountered that showed any level of compassion. I was given CT scan with someone who was in training and then person training the new person even complained that I got blood on the machine- from my actively bleeding head wound. UPDATE: I followed up with my primary care to have staples removed and was told I should have absolutely been given a tetanus shot by the ER. I received one from my primary care but it was 10 days past the injury and well past the recommended 48 hours to receive the shot. How is a crucial step of giving a tetanus shot after a gaping would from a metal object missed?!
