The Highlands provides treatment services for all genders (16+) with primary or secondary diagnosis of an eating disorder.
Castlewood at The Highlands is located in the rolling hills of Birmingham, Alabama in an office building that is accented with homelike furnishings. Our facility provides clients with real-world exposures, including kitchen preparation, family-style dining, restaurant dining, grocery shopping, and entertainment. Each client receives state-of-the-art individualized treatment from experienced professionals knowledgeable about eating disorders and the issues that often co-occur including anxiety, OCD, trauma, depression, and addictions.
Castlewood at The Highlands' (PHP) is a treatment program designed to provide the intensity of residential treatment in a day treatment setting. Clients reside at either our nearby peer-supported, recovery-oriented apartments or at home.
Castlewood at The Highlands' Outpatient Program (IOP) is appropriate for those clients who require more structure than individual outpatient therapy alone can provide. The Highlands’ IOP may also provide a flexible treatment option for clients who are transitioning back to life, work, or school after treatment at a higher level of care.
