Very homey, friendly atmosphere, menu and prices. Thank you for a nice time on your back deck tonight!
Small, authentic log cabin and very good food perfect Italian bread. My only complaint is that they do not serve virgin olive oil at the table. Wonderful service and a great bartender. Highly recommend.
Even though I don’t drink anymore slace served one of my all time favorites. The blood orange Martini with goose was one of the best drinks I ever had served with a side car. Warning: only order one because two will be a total KO. Love the big portions of food. This a go to and I highly recommend it.
We have dined at the family owned Catarinas Italian Village many times since their opening in 2006 and have never been disappointed. Prior to this time we dined at the Italian Village Restaurant in Wakefield which was owned by the same family. The food has always been traditional family Italian recipes well prepared and well presented. The wait staff always provided excellent service. The eggplant dishes are the best we have ever eaten, and we have ordered eggplant entrees in many restaurants that enjoy great reputations. Our friends and family members have raved about other entrees they have ordered. The deserts are also very good and are worth at least sharing if you have room.
We stopped here after the beach to wait out some of the traffic. We are very glad we did! The restaurant has a cute homey feel to it, sort of like a log cabin. Asked if we wanted to be seated inside or out we chose out. It was a nice deck outside that had 4 tables so it was quite cozy. The view was a newly constructed townhouse, lots of trees and a distant view of the Jamestown/Newport bridge. Our server was delightful, as were the others, I noticed, very attentive. You can definitely tell this is not your run of the mill chain restaurant but a nice family owned establishment. I had a Sophia Loren martini which was delicious, and they gave me the remainder of the drink in a tiny carafe with ice around it....that was a nice touch! Eggplant rollups were excellent and the sauce on the ziti was so good. Hubby had linguine with clam sauce which was also very good but they did have crunchy onions and garlic with green onions in the sauce which was different. Used the bread to soak up the sauce, yum! We are very glad we stopped in and will be back after a day at the beach!
We ordered a rare steak and they gave it to us well done when we tried to give it back the said they couldn't take off the bill because we had already eaten a few bites and then she took the steak and did not bring it back and when we said ok but charge us for the 12oz. Instead of the 16 oz. And the manager started to yell at us even while we were trying to pay. Other than that the food was ok but don't waste your time on mediocre food and bad service. On the upside we got a free meal.
Orderd takeout the other night 84 bucks for 2 orders of spaghetti with clam sauce aand chicken parm with spaghetti. They only put 1 little neck in each order. The chicken was dry and cold.and the pasta they gave us was so small. Called to talk to manager she was busy and could not take my call. Rude.. She told she would call me back but never did. Will never hold back. I don't recommend this place to anyone.
We used to frequent Caterina's after the Italian Village closed in Wakefield, because Caterina's menu was very similar, them being sister restaurants. We particularly liked their eggplant dishes. Last night, after a 3-4 year hiatus, we went back, and everything was just as good as ever. We were glad to see moderate size off season crowd there, and the food proved it out. I had veal zingerella and my wife had plain pasta in oil and garlic with black olives. Their red sauces are strong tasting with the use of kalamata olives frequently employed. Not subtle, but absolutely delicious. We started with our go to drinks, Martini for my wife, and Manhattan for me. Just right. Coconut shrimp and bruschetta for appetizers. I can't say enough about how delighted we were to be back there. We will visit again, regularly.
Average. We were not all that impressed by our meals. The staff was very friendly, and there used to be a bit of a view out the back until some developer built a bunch of boring looking town homes in the way. We wanted to like this place so that we'd have a local, go-to Italian restaurant, but unfortunately the food did not appeal all that much to our palettes.
Slightly above average typical RI-Italian restaurant. My parents like the happy hour with 1/2 price appetizers at the bar. Definitely an interesting spot for people-watching the locals.
