Catfish Cabin has been a landmark restaurant in Albertville, Alabama for nearly 40 years. We feature U.S. farm raised catfish along with many other great items including chicken, pasta, burgers, Po;Boys and more. Our philosophy is simple, fresh homemade meals and great customer service. We feature many homemade items such as coleslaw and hushpuppies. We have family meals, a kids menu and we would also love to cater your next event. Good food...good quality...great gumbo..slaw. Friendly service but didn't offer dessert... Should train service to show desserts... The hushpuppies were best I've ever had with actual corn in them...yum It's a nice building that seats 100s. Bathroom is very small...waited in line...
Great food, great service and just a fun place for good southern cooking. The only downside was the cheese grits were a little dry. But make sure you save room for dessert! The hot fudge cake is amazing and enough to split! BTW go on your birthday and your dessert is free! Great place for an evening with friends.
I had the Seafood Platter, grilled. The shrimp, scallops, and catfish fillets were all pretty good. It came with coleslaw, gumbo, and hush puppies, also good. It appears they're an openly Christian business, and that's fine. The wait staff were friendly and attentive, although a bit young and inexperienced. Overall, I enjoyed my dinner and was ok with the cost. As a side, there is parking available for semi-trucks.
Was passing thru town and have always wanted to try it. Honestly disappointed. Very small pieces of catfish. The seasoning was just ok. But didn't have much flavor. Tastes as if they had just put it on at the very end. And with no apparent seasoning on the bottom half of the fish, I would say this is probably the case. And the flies where pretty bad. Keep waving them away from my food. And noticed others having to do the same the whole meal. And when going to the bathroom to wash my hands. Several flies in there as well. But overall the restaurant was clean. The staff super friendly and deserved a good tip. They preformed there duties with excellence!
Very fresh and delicious. Staff was very nice and helpful. Very knowledgeable of the menu and very clean/ accommodating.
Catfish Cabin is a throwback from my childhood. It reminds me of my late grandfather who woukd have turned 100 the week before my visit. I had the fried seafood platter. First off, the hushpuppies are awesome. The gumbo was okay. The fried catfish was really good as was the fried shrimp. The fried scallops were a little dry. The baked potato was ABSOLUTELY LOADED, which makes me happy. I had the key line pie fir dessert and it was as good as any. While there are other places in the area I woukd recommend before this ine, Catfish Cabin is still a solid choice.
Well we were very disappointed over the food the frog legs were not done and the fish was cold.. And where they seated us the waitress kept putting there trays of drinks above my head so I sit just waiting for someone to spill something on me.. We saw 4 couples walk out on count of the service... And of all things you gotta sit and here waitress talking about each other ... We will never be back waste of money and time...
Hushpuppies we're they star of the experience by far. The catfish was nicely fried an the cole slaw was decent. The atmosphere was bland and the service a bit slow.
Had good food. Had a small problem with our order but they made it right. Crab claws were good.
Staff was nice but the food itself left a lot to be desired. The hush puppies and salad were the only items that tasted good. The bacon wrapped shrimp did not taste like you'd expect them to they were rather bland. The cheese grits lacked seasoning. The steak was overcooked on one end and undercooked on the otherasked for medium rare and actually got a medium on one end and rare on the other lol overall it's not terrible but it wasn't good. As always these are my personal opinions.
