Great food and service. The hush puppies are some of the best I've ever had especially paired with the green tomato relish. Conveniently located not far from the interstate with a large parking lot. Very nice buildingFood: 4/5
Hidden right off the interstate in Alma, Arkansas is the best tasting catfish around. Before the meal, you are served endless hushpuppies, pickles, peppers, and coleslaw. The hushpuppies are a must, and I recommend trying them with the pickle. The service is incredible! It is a large space, but they are well staffed with friendly people. You will never run out of a drink or set-up. If you are in the area and looking for options, this is a great one!
If the name of your restaurant contains the word “catfish” then your catfish better be good and it was. It was hot, crispy and delicious. The fries were meh. I prefer crispy fries but they weren’t awful and I ate them. However, my mom’s shrimp was overcooked. It made the meat rather rubbery and generally unpleasant. The hush puppies were bland, but hot and crispy. Being from Wisconsin and loving a good relish tray and I found the green tomato relish interesting but the cole slaw was my least favorite thing. Pretty much mayo and cabbage. The service was good although I was there at 3:00 on a Wednesday afternoon so there weren’t that many people. WHO DECORATED THIS PLACE? The building had a modern metal, wood, and cinder block style but then there were huge pictures of children on the wall staring at us like missing children on the side of a milk carton see picture. It was disconcerting! I think they’re the owners grandchildren but come on! Add the hanging quilts and nothing made sense. Think grandma’s house meets a new brewery motif. Weird.
The grilled trout and salmon were both fantastic, perfectly cooked and very flavorful, and the "fixins" like onions and coleslaw etc made great additions. They're known for those hush puppies which are amazing too My only request would be a couple more veggie options for sides. The green beans are good, maybe add some broccoli or zucchini etc But overall it was a fantastic dinner
Great service and friendly place to have a meal with friends, family, or coworkers. Fried scallops were awesome, chicken tenders little over cooked but still tasty, and catfish filets was as expected.Food: 4/5
Stopped in during a motorcycle ride with our group of 7. Took about 15 minutes to get a table. Only bummer NO COKE! We did get to see the Razorback mascot Tusk V1, that was pretty cool. Parking: GPS lead us wrong, we found it nonetheless. Kid-friendliness: Cute menu just for them. Wheelchair accessibility: Nice long ramp to the door.
The whole overall restaurant have changed. The prices is higher they expect for you to get full off of slaw- and hush puppies. The fish pieces are extra small ,if you get a 3 piece they should give two extra pieces cause of the smaller portion. They expect for you to tip the waitress as well. The price is too expensive and doesn't measure up to the plate. Do better or you will lose a lot of customers. You drive from Fort Smith and your still hungry on your way back.
Very friendly wait staff, great prices for the food. This place gets super busy! I’d say the standouts for me were the hush puppies! Very good! Wait staff was all friendly and pretty prompt considering the amount of diners in the building. So the big one, is the catfish was good? Well, it is good, but not the best, and that’s ok! I left satisfied and felt the price more than reasonable. I’d definitely not wait in line to eat here. But I got here early and there wasn’t a wait. I had heard a ton about this place, so I was very excited to try it, I’m glad I did!
Very consistent, very fresh. Something was different about the hushpuppies this time, I think they weren’t quite as sweet and the texture was a little grainier or just not as smooth as usual. Not sure. I only rank the atmosphere down one star because I have trouble carrying on a conversation in there. I can’t hear others well and feel like I am yelling back at them. It’s still a wonderful dining place and I do recommend it!
I went to Arkansas for my family reunion. We went to this place to eat dinner and had 50 people in our party. We made reservations ahead of time. When we got there we had to wait for the rest of the staff that was going to serve us to get there before we could be seated. We were okay with that but you figured that they would have already been prepared for that seeing as how we did make a reservation for a particular time. Then they asked us at least eight different times if we were sure we were going to have about 50 people. Every time we said "yes. Is that going to be a problem?" Finally, the rest of the staff showed up or they took them from who was there for regular service. Once we were seated it took about 15 to 20 minutes for us to start getting all of the extras, hush puppies, pickles, coleslaw, onions, Etc. Once they started coming, the servers made a complete turnaround on what was starting to be a "not so well" experience. They were extremely friendly, social, some of them humorous, very helpful, kid-friendly, and good at their job. The only complaint that we did have is it was way too hot in there. They never turned the air conditioner on and with 50 people talking and visiting and kids jumping around, the hot food, and all of us seated so close, it felt like it was about 100° in there. Other than that, the experience was very pleasant. The food was awesome and pretty quick to come out and exactly how everybody ordered it. They did an awesome job and earned their tips. We will definitely go back there again next year for our family reunion. Parking: We had 50 people in our party and we all had plenty of spots to park in leaving plenty for anybody else that wanted to show up. There was plenty of parking along the front and the side of the building without having to walk too far. Kid-friendliness: The servers are very kid-friendly, and they have quite a few items on the kids menu. Wheelchair accessibility: There are no stairs or anything that you have to worry about going up and the front entrance is very accessible with pretty much front door service parking. And the tables are perfect height for a wheelchair to sit at comfortably.
