I have been coming to the Catskill Mountain Lodge for over 35 years. I was there when the original owner opened and have been back for all subsequent owners, some good, some not so much. I have to say that the present owner Brian has brought this little gem back to its original family friendly atmosphere. Rooms are clean and newly painted, grounds were well kept, pool was clean with plenty of seating in sun or shade. Beach towels are provided for pool use. Housekeeping was amazing and prompt. The lodge offers a nice touch of complimentary bagels and coffee in the lobby each morning. Any issues were addressed immediately turned out to be my fault as I did not turn the knob on the AC. My family and I are already talking about returning next year for a little rest and relaxation. Nice place to recharge your battery. Thank you Brian and staff for an enjoyable stay!!
Great family friendly hotel. Loved the little touches like leaving sidewalk chalk, toys, and games out for the kids. They have a little game room, fire pit, and outdoor movies although our kids didn't stay up late enough!. Pool was pleasant, great hiking nearby. Breakfast included gluten free and dairy free options which was a welcome surprise. We stayed in the lodge, the room was clean and spacious. The only downside was that our neighbors were noisy and we could hear everything through the walls, but we once the air conditioner kicked in it drowned them out. So we kept the fan at constantly on and were no longer bothered by it. Overall we were very happy and would stay again.
Wonderful and peaceful experience at Catskill Mountain Lodge! Perfect escape from New York City while on a midwinter break from work. Staff are friendly and professional. A real family-like feel, and makes one feel right at home upon arrival. Cool lobby and cozy bonfire to warm you up during a cold night. Rooms were clean and spacious and cleaning service was top notch. Free bagels and coffees from 8-10am. And helpful locals can recommend ideal places to visit! A staff member, Brian, even curated a list of great places to eat for your convenience. I highly recommend it to anyone who’s new to Catskills, Hiking, or first time mountain goer!
Really cute retro motel-lodge! The property gave me Bates Motel vibes but without the terror - a good thing. Brian is super great and friendly. Bagel/coffee breakfast was a nice touch. Property full of amenities - would be great to be back when more guests as I seemed to be like the only person during my stay which felt a bit eerie. The decor is super retro which I loved. I stayed in the motel section, which was a bit more rough around the edges. TV just leaning on wall, cable box randomly on floor, cleaning supplies left in bathroom, exposed electrical plug casing things, chipped sinks and toilet. Little things like that may bother some folks but I didn’t mind - and if anything kind of added to the old school motel vibes. The place was otherwise clean and comfortable and affordable. I’ll be back soon - hopefully to ski nearby!
Catskills little secret! We loved our getaway at the Catskill mountain lodge. The owners knew the area very well and had great recommendations for places to visit. We took a very easy hike behind the Lodge which took us to a beautiful Creek with a waterfall and nobody else was around except us. It was so special! The new management of this place really has an amazing eye for style and hospitality. I love the color palette and retro throwback designs. It's almost as if it was inspired from Disney's Polynesian resort! The owners have only had it for a short period of time so they still have farther to go but for what it is now, it's amazing and I look forward to seeing it get better and better as time goes on.
This was our second time visiting the Catskill Mountain lodge. The first time we stayed in a deluxe room, this time we stay in Cabin 117. This is now officially my favorite place to stay at when we visit the catskills. The bed in our room was 100% one of the top three most comfortable beds I've ever slept on and all the comforters and furnishings were Just Like Home . I met Deedee, one of the owners, as we were checking out. I told her how much we enjoyed our stay. The look on her face said it all. I can tell she genuinely loves her Lodge and the staff and the facilities back it up. Thanks guys! We'll see you next time. Thanks for being part of our great vacation
If you are looking for good times with family and friends, this is your place. The room was clean and cozy and had the bells and whistles I’m used to seeing at a much higher price point. The staff were kind and the lodge had plenty to do and many spaces to chat with others. The breakfast was a nice touch and a great carb-boost before our hikes. The lodge being dog friendly is what drew me in and my dog had a great time walking the dry creek bed on property. I will never forget my stay here and am looking forward to many future stays!
No words to describe this place except for LOVE! Lol. Such a cute place. My boyfriend and I decided to book this place back in May as a little getaway for the Kentucky Derby they have an OTB! and we’ve been back at least once a month since. The lodge is clean, rooms are spacious and well kept. The staff is so friendly, owners, front desk, maintenance… and incredibly helpful. Nate is always very attentive if we need anything. The grounds are immaculate and the pool is beautiful! It’s such a nice getaway from NYC. And I can bring the pup! She loves the big lawn and gets so excited when she realizes where we’re going. They really do a nice job with upkeep. The fire pits and picnic tables are great for summer nights. We don’t have kids, but I’ve noticed it’s very family friendly with movies on the lawn at night which is cute. We’ve been 4-5 times now and have really enjoyed each stay. I’d give it 10 stars if I could! :
The room was beautiful and had everything I needed. But checking in could of been a lot better. I got there and stood there for over 5 minutes waiting for someone to come to desk. No bell to ring or anything. So we had to stand there until someone finally realized we were there on the cameras. However the staff was extremely friendly. Very clean place. I do highly recommend.
We seriously considered extending our trip just because of this motel. We stayed in a king lodge room and it was exactly what we needed - one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in, restaurant recommendations, proximity to hiking trails and a remote, quiet atmosphere. Plus, they’re dog-friendly. No complaints, and can’t wait to come back!
