I love this Cathedral. On the north side, outside, the shadow of the Jesus statue is formidable. Inside is immaculate. It is open to all. Come. Sit down a moment and take in all of the splendor. It is breath taking even for someone like me who despises religion, but the religious do create magnificent places for them to feel pious.

The St. Louis Cathedral located on Jackson Square is a great location for a of you who want to visit a local landmark. We visited during their construction and remodeling which was a little annoying to not know as most of the roof and the ceiling work covered in scaffolding which took away from the full ambience. Another thing it really was interesting is the arch catcher is absolutely gorgeous but then there’s certain spots where you can dip your credit card in to pay for donations and things that just took away from the experience a bit. They do have rosaries you can buy which were very beautiful and I wish I would’ve gotten one. The frescos on the ceiling are currently partially visible but for the most part not really.

Four stars for group of people and/ single performance to show their talents in front of St. Louis Cathedral and between, Jackson square, beside Louisiana State museum. They're really great and amazing!! Paintings made by native New Orleaners are perfect and they're talented to their gifts. It's just the church itself is closed during our visit. Hoping to have an opportunity to sit inside and to listen a homily in a whole mass.

Beautiful church in the heart of the French Quarter in New Orleans. Nice mass, beautiful and vivid paintings inside. Outside, you may get "entertained" by the detractors of the Catholic church. Also, you'll see tables with voodoo dolls and cards. Interesting contrast. Scaffolding is up inside March+ 2022.

Beautiful place with talented artists and a great amalgam of cultures! Unfortunately no pets are allowed in the park, even though we witnessed children ripping off plants straight from the roots. Regardless if you wanna sight see, and meet with a wide variety of people and cultures I highly recommend!

A must-visit when in New Orleans. The architecture is amazing and something you would see in Italy or Spain. It is also the oldest cathedral in all of the USA! Who knew. Within within walking distance of canal Street and French Quarter. I would have loved to do a tour inside or a mass, but I don't think they offer these during the week

Beautiful courtyard, beautiful architecture, beautiful pictures. I was sad that they were having private services the day we went so we couldn’t tour the inside. We went during visiting hours but a wedding was taking place. Maybe one day I can get back.

It really is a grand, spired circa-1700s church with stained glass, a painted ceiling.  The ceiling is impressive, the architecture is impressive.  Very calming and peaceful inside.  Just outside the the hustle and bustle of Jackson square with street performers, but you wouldn't know once you are inside the cathedral.  If you are in the area, just walk inside for a moment to take it all in.  Many restaurants, food, and music nearby.

While I am not religious I love visiting the Cathedral whenever I am in New Orleans! The architecture and decor is stunning! As soon as you walk inside there’s a palpable feeling of calmness and peacefulness that washes over you. Having the chance to light candles in honor of people that I have lost or that need healing always makes my heart feel so full.

Went to a wedding in this church. Was one of the most beautiful churches I have ever been in. A must see if your in New Orleans! From the stained glass windows to the interior art work it is just majestic!
