Offered through the widely recognized and respected Dr. Bonnie G. Metcalf School of Education, the Master of Science in Education Programs at California Baptist University prepare students to advance their proficiency as well as their professions as teachers, counselors, curriculum developers, administrators and leaders in a range of educational settings and capacities.
Students in CBU’s Education program have the opportunity to enhance their skills, knowledge and value, explore expanded career options, and work toward professional goals as effective educators with specialized expertise. Metcalf graduates are not only prepared to advance professionally, but to contribute actively to the body of knowledge in the field of education.
Our mission is to prepare professionals of high moral character and ethical behavior to serve throughout the world. Our programs are designed to equip individuals with the knowledge, skills, and dispositions of leadership required for professional excellence as teachers, school counselors and school psychologists, early childhood specialists and administrators. Our programs prepare candidates to excel in their career and calling by providing a purposeful balance between theory, research and practice.
Metcalf School of Education programs enjoy a stellar reputation in the area, such that our candidates are at the top of the recruiting efforts at several of the surrounding school districts. Our faculty team is comprised dedicated and competent professionals who develop mentoring relationships with their students and highlight relevant Christian principles and truths to support and reinforce the learning. Our student support team is equally dedicated to candidates’ success and provides individual support and encouragement from the moment students inquire about the programs to the point of exiting with their credentials and/or graduate degree.
