Cedar Hill Prep School is a non-sectarian private school in the Somerset section of Franklin Township, New Jersey, offering an education from pre-school to grade 8.The school educates children from towns in central New Jersey including Somerset, south Bound Brook, Bridgewater Township, New Brunswick, North Brunswick, South Brunswick, South Plainfield, Edison and Piscataway.As of the 2015-16, the school had an enrollment of 265 students, and 30 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 8.0:1HistoryThe for profit school started in 2003 with the name of Oakcrest Academy, on leased property. In 2006, the school purchased a 9-acre property with two existing buildings and renamed the campus Cedar Hill Prep School. In order to respond to the demand, the founder built an additional 14000 sq.ft building on campus in 2007, which currently holds Preschool through Grade 2 and the cafeteria. In 2012 another 14000 sq.ft building (including a gym) was built. Currently this building is used by Grade 3-8. Cedar Hill Prep School students have consistently ranked in the top 10% of the nation in the national standardized tests.
