Cedar River Seafood of Lake City, Florida

There were 10 of us that went to dinner. They accommodated us very quickly. Nikki was our server and she was amazing. Everything was on point. Every bit of our food came out promptly and hot. Our drinks never got low and the place was great. I had the shrimp scampi and it was seasoned perfectly. The entire staff worked together nicely. Thank you! Kid-friendliness: The placemats that were already on the table had fun activities on the back for the kids. Also plenty of different fish on the wall for them to check out.

After reading other reviews, we decided to exit off of I-75 and give Cedar River Seafood a try. We were promptly greeted by our awesome waitress, Jessica. I ordered the Crab Legs for my appetizer and my husband ordered a cup of Clam Chowder. Jessica let me know that the Crab Legs might take a little longer so she would wait before putting in our entree order. That was perfectly fine and I appreciated her forethought on doing that. When we placed our entree orders, Jessica told us that we both made excellent choices and we appreciated her validating our selections. The Crab Legs appetizer was wonderful and a great portion considering that it was an appetizer. Most restaurants would consider that an entree! My husband said his Clam Chowder was good as well. My entree was their Shrimp Scampi and my husband ordered the Stuffed Flounder. They were served with two sides of our choosing as well as hush puppies. EVERYTHING was simply wonderful! Our sides were Lima Beans, a Baked Potato, Fried Sweet Corn, and Sweet Potato Mash. They were excellent! If you're thinking about it, do yourself a favor and go! We'll definitely be back the next time we're in the area and will be sure to ask for Jessica as our server!

I don’t hand out five stars easily, but in our opinion this place deserved it. The food was absolutely delicious. We had the flounder Rockefeller and the Lowcountry boil. The cheese grits and greens were delicious but I think one of my favorite things were the hush puppies, done to perfection. We each got a non-domestic beer and they were $3.50 per glass. Each of our meals was about $15 a piece which I think is very reasonable in this economy. Our server Nicki was very attentive and answered all of my menu questions . Unfortunately we are only passing through the area and I’m not sure when I will be able to visit this establishment again. But I will not hesitate to do so whenever we are close.

Nikki is the best! She was so sweet. We had a wonderful experience tonight. After driving 8 hours and looking for a good resturant to sit and enjoy, we stumbled across Cedar River Seafood. They have great reviews and now I see why! The food, service, and atmosphere were fantastic. My boyfriend and I are celebrating our anniversary. We stopped in Lake City for a rest before continuing to Tampa for our cruise. We love the springs in the area and spent hours swimming so we needed somewhere good to go after. I'm so happy that we found this gem! We ordered the lobster dinner for one, gator tail, shrimp and scallop Alfredo, and we loved every bit! Everything was so good. I loved the sauce with the gator tail. The lobster was the best part, of course. The tails were so thick and juicy. They were soft and well seasoned. Served with 2 sides of your choice, hush puppies, shrimp, and scallops..... I don't know how it can get any better. Parking: Plenty of spots to park and very easy lot go get in and out.

Found This place as we traveled through. Red Snapper filet with baked potato, fried corn of the cob. Cod tail filet with apple sauce and sweet potatoes. Great choices. We will try again next time through town.

We’ve eaten here twice now. We have children and grandchildren near Ocala and found this place on one of our trips down. The first time we stopped it was a weekday and was not terribly busy. We went right in and ordered a few minutes after getting there. Stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer with grilled shrimp and shrimp scampi for entrees. The mushrooms were okay - not great, not bad, but okay. I’d eat them again but wanted to try something different on the second trip. The grilled shrimp was excellent! Excellent! The shrimp scampi was good as well my wife ordered it and, uncharacteristically, I didn’t sample it. She cleaned her plate though! Next visit was Friday, March 17, 2023. We arrived around 6:10 and were seated at 6:30 approximately after being told about a 30 minute wait. Pleasantly surprised to say the least. The restaurant was busy with several large groups. Our server stopped by after 4-5 minutes to take our order. We ordered fried green tomatoes, I got grilled shrimp again with Cole slaw and fried corn on the cob. My beautiful wife got grilled shrimp and deviled crab choose two with two sides with Cole slaw and baked potato. The tomatoes came out in just a few minutes and were really good with the ranch dressing which tasted homemade. That’s where things got a little……long. We watched people who had come in after us get served and leave while we were still waiting for our food. After more than an hour from being seated and getting our tomatoes I was beginning to get just a little upset. We had a destination still 2 hours away and needed to get in, eat a relaxing meal, get back on the road. Unfortunately, that was not to be. Once our server realized how long we’d been waiting after I helped her out some, she went to the kitchen to see where our food was. Apparently, our ticket had gotten placed on “hold” or something and never put back in queue. We eventually got our meal. It was hot and, again, very good. The server was extremely apologetic, removed the appetizer and a further discount to compensate us. We didn’t ask for either but were pleased she was proactive in addressing a problem. We would rather have paid the full price and been in and out in under an hour instead of roughly 2 hours. But, it was addressed without us asking and we were pleased with the resolution. I’m sure it’s an aberration and not indicative of normal guest experience at this restaurant. I said all that to tell you this: a business who is proactive in addressing problems is a place who cares about their customers and wants them to return. This is such a business. I’m impressed with their customer service. We’ll return on another trip. Maybe even on a weekend. The food is outstanding. My wife loved the deviled crab and the grilled shrimp was, once again, delicious. The coleslaw is very good and the fried corn on the cob is outstanding. I highly recommend it. As I said above, we’ll return and I’m sure things will go smoothly. I recommend this restaurant.

Went to Cedar River in Lake City FL today. Food was very good and our server for our party of six, Jessie, did an outstanding job. From taking our orders and making suggestions to help us get exactly what we wanted, to keeping our tea glasses filled. Jessie was very pleasant and cheerful and did an excellent job of making sure we had an enjoyable dinner. She was like a breath of fresh air and certainly a credit to Cedar River’s staff. Will ask for her on our next trip there.

Excellent dinner. Service was friendly and knowledgeable. A large seafood menu. You go to Cedar River Seafood. The kitchen knows how to fry Seafood. Seafood can also be broiled or blackened. Limited dessert menu, however the three desserts that are offered are excellent. Highly recommended.
