Jonathan Bowers’ House (Center Cafe) This house is one of the oldest commercially used buildings in Billerica today. Built in 1796, the building has changed over the years but still retains some of its old colonial characteristics. Jonathan Bower s was the first Postmaster in Billerica and his home served as the Post office for over 100 years. Many other organizations and committees have also been run out of the building. Some examples include the Billerica Trust Company and the Modern Food Shop both in 1930. Other groups such as the Order of the Odd Fellows have also used the upstairs of the building for meetings after their hall had burned down.
