Center for Belgian Culture

About

The CBC works to preserve the history and culture of the Belgian immigrants to Moline and surrounding Quad City area.

Description

Moline, Illinois and the surrounding Quad City area was home to the largest concentration of Belgians in the US until the 1970s.

We have descended from Flanders, the northern half of Belgium and our native tongue was Flemish. There are very few of our elders left who speak Flemish today.

The Center for Belgian Culture works to preserve our native heritage for future Belgian Americans and the surrounding community.
