Massage is an ancient form of healing that has roots in many traditions and parts of the worlds. Priests often healed with the laying on of hands. Though Swedish massage feels good and does invoke many healthy changes for the body; our focus is to work with intent to heal specific complaints and tensions. We are not a “single technique” oriented. Rather we try to unlock restrictions understanding the body’s patterns of compensation. We focus on patterns specific to each client; so their body can restore homeostasis. Most of the work is “deep” muscle therapy or myofascial; with energy techniques. Considerable pressure is required to alter compromised holding patterns in the connective tissue. This tissue comprises a high proportion of body mass. We know that pressure or tension, even on the embryo is what results in increased secretion of connective tissue fibers. We need to meet the pressure that is being exerted with equal pressure to initiate a change that not only creates releases of tension in the insulted muscle; but goes deep to initiate change of tension in the connective tissue that ultimately is interrelated with every organ, muscle and function of the body.

A major part of Debra's practice is challenging us all to new expressions of health. Empowering clients dealing with sports injuries, pain, and recovery fills her day. She works with varied athletes of all ages in preventative, maintenance and healing capacities. Currently her youngest client is 6 and her oldest client is 86. She also serves a small subset of Parkinson, Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalcia clients; and women dealing with breast cancer. Supporting women undergoing mastectomies has been a passion for Debra since she lost her mother to breast cancer.
