Dr. Thomas Yarema has passionately committed to bridging the best of all systems of medicine: East and West, Conventional and Non-Conventional, Scientific and Intuitive. From a full modern medical education and post-graduate work in the emergency room of Charity Hospital in New Orleans to studying with traditional indigenous healers in the rainforests of Central America, his education spans many different modalities and methods.
In 1996, Dr. Yarema opened up the Kauai Center for Holistic Medicine and Research in Hawaii, and in 2007, he moved to the Santa Cruz, California area and set up the Center for Wellness and Integrative Medicine where he currently serves as medical director. His professional tools consist of Allopathy, Ayurveda, Traditional Oriental Medicine and Acupuncture, Immune Stimulation, Intra-Venous Nutrition and Heavy Metal Detoxification Therapy.
He is the co-author of “Eat-Taste-Heal: An Ayurvedic Guidebook & Cookbook for Modern Living,” a seven-time National award-winning book, and co-owner of Five Elements Press. Dr. Yarema is also the co-formulator of Zrii, an Ayurveda-based liquid nutritional in the Network Marketing Industry and serves as a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the same.
The focus of his unique health practice is stimulating the innate healing ability of each client through an innovative approach that combines immune support, metabolic enhancement and optimal digestion. Rooted in ancient concepts and methods but adapted to suit modern maladies and conditions, his treatment programs include dietary recommendations, supplements, lifestyle changes and mental and spiritual counseling.
Dr. Tom Yarema does not operate from a theoretical framework. Instead, he employs results-driven solutions to today’s most epidemic chronic illnesses that have earned him a following of dozens of more-than-satisfied clients.
