Center of the Universe

About

The Center of the Universe is a fun, interesting and unique attraction for the whole family. You'll hear strange echoes, reverberations, and oddities

Description

The center of the universe is an acoustic anomaly; when one stands in the center of the circle and makes a noise, that noise is echoed back several times louder than it was made.

The truly amazing thing is that no one standing outside of the circle can hear the echo. Talk to yourself and listen to your own echo respond, while none outside the circle will hear. Or rather, that’s how the legend goes...

How curious! Stand in the center of the circle and speak and you hear a strange echo, but anyone outside of the circle can hear you with no distortion whatsoever. Fun, quick, free stop. Glad you to experience this real oddity. Wish they had some sort of placard or sign. If you don't know it's there you'd walk right by and have no clue.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
Cool place close to downtown Tulsa by the train station. Has a tall cloud sculpture to the North of the Center of the Universe that can be seen from afar. At the center if you talk or make sounds you get a strange sound effect that even experts disagree why this occurs. I went just to say that I have been at the center of the universe!
I know a complete renovation is coming as I’ve taken apart of the poll asking residents what they would like to see done with this area, but it’s gone downhill quite a bit since the last time I was here years ago. Hoping for a much better scene next time I visit.
Gotta be honest- not the best area and just a run down circle. If you are in Tulsa for something else, go for it; but don’t go out of your way to see it. We stopped because we watch Tulsa king and we’re here for our daughters triathlon. Yes. You can hear just fine outside the circle. Lol. Big golden driller statue was super cool though! Different area but not that far.
Stand in the middle and talk in your head. Your voice will echo in your echo if you talk. Also, it has one of the beautiful sunsets I have ever seen. Beat time to visit is just before sunset. Take some beautiful picturesVisited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
I always bring my out of town friends here when they're visiting. Its such a fun experience to stand in the circle and hear the echo, or watch them experience it for the first time. Its fast, free, and fun. Plus it's in the center of downtown Tulsa so theirs lots to do around it. I wouldn't recommend going after 11pm unless you're with a group of friends, but that goes for most of the downtown area.
Very interesting. When you talk your voice is bounced back to you in stereo. The place could use a little love and repair.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitPrice for adult entryFree
It's a unique experience where, in the middle of the bridge, if you stand in the middle where the two halves of the circle meet and talk or yell loudly, you can hear yourself echo.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
It's an interesting stop. But a bit broken down. Public parking cost money, but not worth the paying it. You'd get more of of the experience of you found free parking and walked to the site. As you can see it's not kept up.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
If in the Tulsa Downtown Arts District, walk over to see this weird little phenomenon. Look for the tall iron spire top of it is shaped like a Phillips 66 sign! and in front there is a brick circle. By standing in the middle of the circle, you can speak out loud and you will hear your voice reverberate, yet no one else can hear that echo but you. There are no signs to explain what causes this, which should really be added. The City should do some repair to the brick circle, but a fun stop nevertheless.
