Love this library so much! Two floors, overlooking the park with beautiful big windows. Tons of natural light. Nice sculptures. Huge selection of books, short hold wait times. Recently moved the video game selection from behind the desk out where you can view them still need to pickup the disk from the desk which is more than reasonable. Upstairs will sometimes have puzzle out for people to try. Great angled tables for drawing. Tons of computers. Many quiet places to sit and read. They even had a complimentary gift wrapping station during the holidays! Very sweet and friendly library staff including security during the pandemic.
My favourite library in the south bay. Great collection of books, well laid out with clearly demarcated sections by age and type. They also consistently host a lot of events including the monthly book sale every third Saturday of the month - it's all-you-can-get in a grocery bag for five bucks. The space they have on the top floor is a reader's paradise - with leather armchairs and ottomans, side tables with a reading lamp, a warm fireplace and all of this overlooking the greenery of the adjacent Central park. The Library has tall ceilings and large windows at many places which makes it feel very open. Library membership is free and allows you free access to numerous museums in the county as well. Loads of parking available - both outdoors and on the basement level.
I will compare this library with Milpitas library to show you why I gave only 4 stars to it. 1. Hours: Milpitas library offers 7 days when this library offers only 6. Milpitas library also offers longer hours on each day. For example, this library closed at 2pm on both Friday and Saturday. 2. Quietness: Milpitas library is much quiet than this one. There were lots of noises in this place at least today. People talked loudly, kids were running around, and you can even hear baby was crying. So, go to Milpitas library if you live on north side of Santa Clara city.
This is the biggest library in this area. Good environment. Soft light. But the study room is not enough.
Central Park Library is very nice. Fun place for events and nice selection of books, magazines, computer terminals. Events happen all the time so check the library's calendar. Great place for young kids to explore and meetups with friends.
Fast wi-fi, electrical sockets to plug in your laptop and a fireplace. Nice place to sit and chill. Wish they were open more hours.
Really clean and comfortable place with a lot of natural light to study and read. Quiet study is my favorite area to work. There are a lot of events for kids and I also heard in broadcast that they have some “dancing event” : Only thing I want to complain is that the Wifi is not stable sometimes.
Wonderful studying and working environment: clean restroom and plenty of seats with sockets. I like that there’s a mini cafe on the first floor! During weekdays, it’s not too challenging to find parking.
Located in the central park, this is biggest public library in santa clara city. — Library offers variety of books — Access to computer and Internet — Movie DvDs are available for borrowing — Staff is polite and helpful Overall great place, only thing that I will like to change is timings. Only 1 day in a week they are open from afternoon till evening and all other days it get closed by 2 PM
This is the main and largest library branch for Santa Clara. First floor is great with a huge kids and young adults section and plenty of books to read a book. The library desk in that section usually has 1-2 fun activities for kids to do coloring, crafts and the librarians are very knowledgeable and helpful with book recommendations. I haven’t explore the rest of the library much but with two large floors and many computer stations, there should be something for everyone.
