Terribly understand staffed! If you think you need to see an ER doctor, call 911 and let the ambulance take you. You’ll get in much faster and have all of your triage done on the way in. I waited over 3 hours to be seen. Sat in lobby in agony with many other’s who needed way more care than I did. There was more security on hand than nurses or doctors. Take my advice, do not walk in! Call for an ambulance. It’s much quicker and way more efficient!
Not sure what the person that gave this hospital one star was seeing but I did not witness any of that. My wife was rushed to the emergency room at Central Washington Hospital with a PEA medical event occurring. I saw nothing but teamwork and professionalism. My wife had a close call and they were not really sure she was going to survive. I’m confident that if not for the ER staff and the entire ward staff in the Harold and Margaret Weed intensive care unit, my wife would not be with us any longer. Thank you and well done folks.
I give this hospital a low review only because they do not allow a family member to spend the night with their loved one to be a advocate for them and to have their loved one by their side at all times. The stress and pain this causes a family is cruel. Visiting hours are only from 8am to 8pm and if the doctor rounds are done before 8am or after 8pm the spouse or patient advocate is not even there to get information from the doctor. Also only 2 visitors are allowed in the room at a time this is not fair to all the family members a patient might want with them which is stressful for the patient also and does not promote faster healing.
My Grandfather was transferred here from another Hospital. My Family had reason to believe he wasn’t going to live beyond the week. So 6 of us drove in from Idaho to see him. The absurd Covid policies and the front desk personal on their power trips only allowed 2 people per day to visit my Grandfather. So we constantly had family come from the hospital room to all relay information to the family in the Lobby. We didn’t have anywhere to go in town. We were just trying to figure out what to do with my Grandfather and we had updates from Doctors every hour. We were not being rude, disrespectful, or loud in the Lobby but we were told that we could not congregate and would have to leave. My family and I were only trying to figure out what the best course of action the doctors should take so that my Grandfather could have the best quality of life. There were many incidents of the individuals at the front desk being passive aggressive especially when we came in the 2nd day to find every available lobby chair flipped over and the cafe lobby roped off.
Honestly pretty frustrated. Everyone was polite and the hospital seemed clean, but the tech I saw was inexperienced in the area I needed help with and I’m currently looking at a revised bill that a was initially about 50% more than I was told I should expect to pay and b is now about 75% higher than that estimate with no explanation Hopeful I’ll hear back with favorable news, which I’d share here, but the billing department needs some streamlining.
If I could give zero I would I took my son in for trying to kill himself they left him n a hallway to discuss his problems and they sent him home with absolutely no help and they wonder why kids kill themselves it's because of horrible hospitals like this one my son jumped in front of a semi truck on a hwy and then swallowed a bottle of meds and they released my son and told him to seal help Tom If my son does to ight his life is on your hands. This hospital should be shut down completely and all new staff. The nurse was rude when we first walked in the foowed by un caring un professional un helpful doctii wonder how many kids in this area have killed there self o er the care from this hospital. I hope it never happens to your child the Dr and nurses if central WA hospital shame on you
I won't go there unless I absolutely have to. They are a joke really. I broke my hand and needed surgery. They had canceled my surgery and moved it to a different date. By the time it gets here my hand will be heald up so they will have to rebrake it. They say that they are a part of university of washington hospital but they don't seem like it.
If you get hospitalized anywhere in Confluence you better get out of there fast. There's only a few competent people who actually care. The rest will treat you like a burdensome animal that needs to shutup and do as your told.
The front staff seem to like to gossip alone if you come off strange to them. Also saw them push a wheelchair a bit too hard with a person in it into another... why does the front girls act so rude?
This hospital deserves 1 star at most, and purely for the fact of kind nurses. Upon my most recent stay, I was on the 2nd floor due to elevated heart rate for monitoring, which then turned into them demanding I stay until the weekend. They stopped monitoring me 12 hours or so into my stay, and stopped giving me fluids as well. But they expected me to stay for days? Which might have been fine except for the fact that the multiple times I requested and was promised food, nothing ever showed up. When I told them I had felt fine and was okay to go, and they also proclaimed there were people much worse off than me. The midwife Stacy decided to get snippy with me and tried to tell me if I left my baby would die. After being told by several nurses all of the tests were okay, and she was perfectly healthy. The pure lack of care here is disgusting. It should not take a nurse having to sneak me jello, when I have no restrictions on eating, just for me to get sustenance for a multi day stay. Then to be rude and try to fear monger your patient? You should not be in medical care if you're going to be that stuck up/rude to your patients. They then stated they may have to transfer me to Seattle if I came back, to which I said "Thank goodness." Because in Seattle, this lack of care NEVER would have happened. I'd rather drive the 3 hours to give birth than to be mistreated like that again.
