I've been going to the Saturday freestyle time coined "muddy time" for like a month now 4-5 visits and every visit is great. I've made a bunch of stuff I love and have given as gifts. Amanda is so nice and fun, if you have an idea of what you want to make then she'll help you do it. I've been a pain and asked for custom glazing but she is so nice about it and everything turns out beautifully. Amanda also does demos at the Hillcrest farmers market on Sundays she's on the sidewalk. Update: there was a special event where we pit-fired some pots on the beach, they came out so cool photo attached! If you get a chance then I definitely recommend!
2022 review: I've been going to this ceramic studio for a while and I love it so much. The people here are so kind, and the owner Amanda is lovely. If you're looking for a queer inclusive space for kids and adults this is the place for you! It's hard to find places for trans and queer kids to exist and feel really comfortable, but everyone here is kind and accepting. Ceramics is a great way for kids to get dirty and have a lot of fun creating something they love. It's clear that everyone who works here cares for every kiddo who walks in and respects their unique creative processes. <3 2020 review: I loved this place! The people who work here are so kind and accepting of everyone and all project ideas. It is a very inclusive and fun space. I recommend the "muddy time" session!
Best ceramic studio in San Diego, hands down!! This place gets better, and better, and better. Birdie is an absolute gem...
Amanda was very helpful in expediting two of the Mug/Not-Mug kits to a local destination just in time for Xmas, wrapped in holiday paper and all! She’s clearly passionate about her business and the kits made perfect, fun, DIY gifts.
So much fun and everyone was so friendly and helpful!
Amanda is a ceramics wizard and somehow manages a small space as if by magic. Go for muddy time on Saturday and she'll give you clay and a wheel and you can go ham. If you didn't know her mission is to introduce kids to the arts who may not otherwise have the opportunity. So you're supporting a great cause too. Thanks A!
Amanda is a superstar. They lead the studio with kindness and generosity. The studio is spaced to account for covid-19 procedures and recommendations.
Muddy time was chill and fun, great experience first time wheel throwing.
Best pottery studio in the town.
Tried to book a session - full, that is fine. Called back and told to come by. Call to make sure it is still not full and they say it is not. Come by in less than 5 minutes and told the spot was given away. It's pretty bad to be lied to in that short of a time span.
