We hired CertaPro to paint our front door, garage door, and their trims. Here were the good and the bad. They had a competitive bid. They were flexible on doing the painting based on weather had some threats of rain. They were timely. I wasn’t impressed with how little they seemed to communicate between the person giving the bid and the painter. Paint day came and the painter didn’t even have the paint for the garage a special kind that CertaPro said they would provide. The painter showed up and asked us where it was. That set the tone for our experience. I felt I had clearly labeled with pieces of tape what color we wanted the trim and the door. There were two colors and a matte and high gloss type. But I had to correct the painter several times. I felt like I was obliged to check the work to make sure what I felt were simple instructions were followed. I felt like the quality of the paint job was on my level which is average at best. I was hoping that by hiring a company, we’d end up with a better looking product than if I had just done it myself. Paint got on the hardware but was not wiped up by the painter. Brush strokes are pretty evident on the front door. The garage door looks like some of the panels got a thicker coat than other parts. Perhaps I have too high of standards. I could have just had an abnormal experience and the rest of the CertaPro team operates more functionally. Also possible that the CertaPro employees that I interacted with were just having an off time themselves. This post shouldn’t reflect poorly on the company as a whole and instead just the single experience I had. Asking for another bid from them will happen in the future. I just know now to ask more questions and make sure our expectations are aligned before we would consider hiring them again.
CertaPro Painters did an excellent job painting our stucco home. They first cleaned the surfaces with a good power wash, filled minor cracks in the stucco, caulked around the windows where needed, taped around windows,..etc and then applied a very high quality paint. Could not be happier with the quality of their work. I would highly recommend them.
