Fun and clean. Prices are to be expected high like every theater. We went to see Barbie and had seats at the third to top row. Pretty good view.
Terrible line management. The same line to get your tickets is also for food. Waiting 20 min and my movie is about to start. Pic is us in the middle of the line, and what is still ahead of us. Three employees for all this. Make sure you come extra early.
Wow, this place is really really going downhill. Just overall unprofessional and completely discourteous to the movie theater experience. The usher turned the cleaning lights on before the movie was over - they realized the movie was still going a minute later and turned them off, but still. He also started cleaning during the credits instead of waiting for everyone to leave which was pretty discourteous. He was out of uniform, he had his AMC polo around his neck with his sweaty tank top just exposed - totally unprofessional. We had brought food in and we’re told by the employee possibly the manager outside food wasn’t allowed, totally fine, but she was extremely rude about the way she said it. If she had just told us, that’s one thing and totally understandable but she had such an attitude like we were ruining her day by even trying. This isn’t some uniformed customer review, either. I’ve been in the theater business for a long time, I know how this should all operate, this was just abysmal all around. This place has gone downhill so fast, only reason I ever come here is if Savoy doesn’t get one of the titles they do. No one here seems to care, ever.
Saw Barbie. Cute movie. The popcorn was delicious with much butter! Yummy. Sat in front of some die hard Barbie fans! It was great! We have a great movie theater. Our #9 theater was packed!
Good movie experience! The staff were friendly too. Students get a special discount just like veterans so if you're a student carry your ID with you.
Update: We went to opening of Indiana Jones 5 and the projector was broken in the Big D theater. All of the white images were shown in pink. They were still selling tickets to everyone without telling people even though they knew. We left along with several other people. Thankfully they refunded our tickets. We went to Savoy. It was great there. My favorite aspects of the Champaign AMC theater: the pick-your-flavor Coke machines & free refills, the express line for Stubs members especially when there is a blockbuster movie, the humongous "Big DDD" screen in theater #7, and it's usually clean. Parking is great too. Prices can be a problem but everything is going up these days.
We asked for our money back when a group of 10 kids between 5-13 years old came and sat by us and started talking and throwing things. When we got up to leave in the middle, I noticed several kids were not wearing shirts or shoes. The manager refunded 2 out of 3 tickets and none of our refreshments because their machine was out of paper when they ran my card and it only printed 2.5 tickets and no receipt for our order. The seats are comfy and they have that any kind of Coke drink machine if you want to risk it.
Big D was still dirty from the showing from the night before. Had drinks and trash in the seats and popcorn on the floor. About 10-20 minutes into the start of the movie, an employee came in with a head lamp and started cleaning the trash out of the seats. Everytime he looked our way we got hit by the bright light. You don't clean a theater while people are trying to watch a movie. And it should have been cleaned either before the first showing of the morning or after the last showing of the night. When lights dimmed for previews, several of them kept flashing. This didn't stop until the movie started and the lights completely were shut off. The movie was great, but the experience of watching it here was not.
Took little ones here to see the little mermaid Great movie by the way! Staff are friendly also this is a clean theater
From out of town and went with my father and kids to see the new Spiderman. Venue looked great. I ordered my tix online which defeats the purpose considering I still had to wait in a large line to get tickets. I ordered snacks- popcorn, pretzel bites, and drinks. We then went into our movie. I sat between both of my kids, holding the pretzel bites and sharing with my kids. Little did I know this entire time the butter/grease was leaking out of the cheap foldable box all over me, staining my $30 black rifle coffee shirt. I was so irritated by it that I went out to let a supervisor know as I was covered in butter. They were really nice but only offered to refund me the $7 pretzel bites. Almost insulting. As I walked off, I heard the supervisor mention to the girl that she needs to use the wax paper when doing pretzel bites, which was entirely forgotten when putting mine together. Last but not least, the theater #11 was so hot... myself and my kids were sweating and uncomfortable. It was honestly unenjoyable. Maybe just some back luck, but I had higher expectations.
