An absolute gem of a park and a huge asset in the middle of the city throughout the seasons. Amazing views across the creek to Downtown, on and off leash dog parks, great playground, community gardens, even a waterfall. The huge pond has been allowed to dry out by the city so the turtles that lived there mostly died. The Parks Board does little to maintain the stunning trees, presumably under the excuse of climate change but unless such spaces are treasured and preserved there will be fewer and fewer places in the city with shade and shelter and this worsensthe problem. Really sad to see how many beautiful trees are allowed to die every year. Serioue shame on the Parks Board to squander such treasure.
Best dog park views all year around. Love this dog park. Sometimes too muddy - but it’s Vancouver. That’s to be expected during the rainy season. Love that there are clean fresh water pools for the dogs to swim in during the hot summers.
Gorgeous skyline view of Vancouver and the water with plenty for the kids to do including: extra large playground, large fast slide, pirate ship, merry-go-round, seasaws, and an abundance of various swings. Plenty of shaded seating and there are picnic tables with sun exposure. Beautiful park and playground with stunning views of downtown. Playground is suitable for all ages with different levels of equipment. Also a large sand box and in-ground trampolines. There's a huge slide which can be pretty quick, but my 3 year old loves it! There's a couple picnic benches and lots of shaded areas under the large trees to one side of the playground. There's a dog park nearby, and usually a coffee cart that sets up here too .
Right next to the False Creek. Nice playground with many rides, pirate ship, monkey bars, long slides, trampoline, swings and many more. Soft rubber mat cover for the whole playground for safety. Walking distance to Granville Island which has many variety of food for lunch or snacks. A fenced and semi fenced dog park nearby. A bike pump is also 5 minutes away. Great location to walk the dog and family any day of the week.
Nice walk around the sea and stunning view of all the tall buildings of Downtown. Nice hide away places to have bit of privacy and alone time. Few benches inside the woods and mostly jogging and chatting in the open area. So with shades and sun cream in Spring and Summer Evenings. Spiral ladder to reach the overhead Cambie bridge was a real surprise..
Very nice park. Easy access from Seaside bike path or off Broadway bike path. Seems popular with dog owners and friends with off leash areas. There is a waterfall pond. Not large and spectacular nor is it visible from the dog areas but it is peaceful and calm and really small. You can see it at the top which I guess is the southern end. The water at the top looks clean and clear I was tempted to drink. The trail to the top where the pond starts is pleasant and has many trees. The playground looks new. Like China Creek North the slide is integrated into the slope, which I think is a great design. Just a little bit up and to it's right is a nice big tree. This park I think is not like your usual neighborhood park. There didn't appear to be playing fields and such but it is in my mind quite a pleasant place to walk around.
Beautiful park with children play area. My grandson loves playing in this play ground so we regularly visit this place. There are many other places where elders also can relax take stroll in the woods and also the seaside walkway. There is small and beautiful garden maintained by the local elders. Lovely place indeed
Still one of my favorite parks, but not as good as it used to be. The swimming pond for dogs was filled in with more dirt so the water level is much lower than before which means that if you have a medium size dog or larger they can not really swim, more just cool off in the waters. On wet days the field is extremely muddy and slippery. Poor drainage Make sure you have good boots with a good grip. At the top of the hill is a pond that has mostly clear city water and is a great place to rinse off your dog before leaving.
Charleson park is one of my favourites in Vancouver. They have plenty of space for any kinds of activities and the grounds are very well maintained. Its also a wonderful walk/bike ride along the seawall, plenty of people bring their dogs our after work. You have the nature from the trees and park as well as the sea right next to you making for a very refreshing experience
