Woodcarver, Sculptor, Teacher
Charley Walsh is an accomplished, award winning wood carver, sculptor and teacher. He developed an interest in carving in high school woodshop when an entry in the Los Angeles County Fair for a pair of teak bud vases won 1st place. Charley comes from a family tradition of German carvers. He has had over 55 years industry experience as a General & Concrete Contractor, and Expert Consultant. His love of carving has led him to share his knowledge, love and expertise to teaching including his home based studio, and instructional seminars at various locations including California State University at Long Beach and the City of Long Beach Parks and Recreation. He is a member of the California Carvers Guild and the National Wood Carvers Association. Charley judges at various competitions including the San Jacinto Wood Carving Show, International Date Festival and International Design & Wood annual events.
