Great middle school, and some of the teachers are amazing and make you look forward to your classes. However, there is too much homework overall, like the teachers forget that the other teachers give homework as well. The group punishments are also awful. Some teachers don't do this, but others will punish the entire class for one kid being rude and making the teacher go insane. Overall, some of the teachers are great, while some make you want to go home every day and not go to their classroom. The old motto of the school was "The South Charlotte Way- Doing the Right Thing, All Day Every Day", but once Mr. Siftar left the school, this motto was basically thrown away.
It's an okay school, but the teachers are flat out blind. They don't know what anything means, or what's going on around the student body. The buses are NOT BIG in fact I always have to fight to get a seat. A literal seat. Also the kindness goal is not followed. The bus is literally the opposite of kid friendly. Everyone swears, and looks up inappropriate things. Overall, I think this school needs to have more understanding of what's going on in the current generation. All they do is punish us, but they don't know WHY we did something.
Pretty awesome school. I am a sophomore in high school and i have to say, the teachers there are pretty freaking awesome there are only a few that were bad in my opinion, the homework is pretty hefty, but it it really helps prep you for high school. Food is awful, but at least the cafeteria was clean. It deserves most of the hype it gets. I give it a 4/5.
This school is horrible! Terrible teachers that do not care about your child whatsoever, granted, not all teachers are bad, but a lot of them are. Two, if you loose something or have something stolen, guess what, they do not help you whatsoever. They say its YOUR fault for leaving it there and they are not responsible, which is total bs. Three, all they care about is EOG scores, which is unfair, as they treat kids who get 1's and 2's like dirt, even if they grew learning wise. And they praise the rich kids who cheat and get 4's and 5's. Finally, the flexibility is not there! If you want to get your child out early for whatever reason, they only allow dismissals before 2:10, which skips a whole class period. And if you need to get out earlier, you need to select a time in-between classes, and skip even more classes. All in all, if you are thinking about sending your child here, think of other great schools in the area, such as Jay M or Carmel Middle. 1/5.
I am an 8th grader in SCMS and I have to say that it is a great school, the teachers are amazing excluding Mrs. Torrence and a few others I have heard about but don't have, It is a great anti-bully zone with not even one person I know being one. Everyone is very friendly and the homework really is not that bad at all.
Some teachers are good but most suck. You have most of the sixth grade teachers that are good but afterwards it is all downhill. Mr. Lagrange can teach but he obviously hates the kids. AND A BUNCH OF 8th GRADE TEACHERS ARE TERRIBLE AT THEIR JOB!
the homework at south charlotte is miserable. its mostly busy work. the teachers are wonderful and you get taught a lot. I am glad I went here than any other place, because of my extensive knowledge.
I attend SCMS now in the 7th grade 6th grade was horrible the teachers were very rude and gave us a pile of homework how fun? But I like7th grade!! less homework but more time to study in the class. So SCMS is not so bad.
It is great. I have been there for 2 1/2 years. I learned so much from all of my teachers. There might be a lot of homework but it helps you in life after all.
i thought it was pretty awesome. I mean, the teachers are hilarious and actualy know what they're doing, their preparing you for high school, and they make sure that slackers are punished. Honestly, the only people who hate the school are the slackers.
