Charlotte Secondary School serves grades 6-12. We believe that diversity in Life and learning promotes success. We understand that not all children learn the same.
CSS combines high expectations for a diverse student body with the instructional support needed for every student to reach his or her full potential. Our low student-teacher ratio enables our faculty to recognize every student as unique individuals. The makeup of Charlotte Secondary School’s student population allows us to explore the cultural composition of our county and to hold meaningful exchanges about the differences social conditions. While serving primarily as a college preparatory school, we gather students from all educational backgrounds and provide them with avenues of enrichment and study that cater to the individual needs. Ultimately our charge is to guide all students in the discovery of their own particular genius, the crucial step in a distinctive life-path.
Charlotte Secondary School embraces a comprehensive liberal arts education with a particular focus on civic education and the humanities. Our students are challenged to employ critical thinking and problem solving based on ‘real world’ issues. Charlotte Secondary School develops students’ capacity to think with discernment and ingenuity, communicate with empathy and tolerance, and act with integrity and purpose.
We are a small charter school located in Charlotte NC. We currently serve grades 6-12th. Where we employ Paideia curriculum, with a strong civics and humanity component to support student service through learning. With a full understanding that all children learn differently.
