I tried to do some basic grocery shopping here as it's the closest to my house. I found that most of the go-to produce I purchase regularly was all plastic wrapped. Broccoli? Tons of plastic, asparagus? Plastic. Head of romaine? Plastic. Celery? Plastic. I ended up snagging a few things here, but having to go to another spot to avoid sooooo much excess waste. I found the staff friendly, but then when packing my bag the woman tried to put the egg carton in sideways, with the opening down. Clearly this would just mean the eggs would fall out when I moved the bag. I just took over the packing. All in all- I can at least say it's tidy.
Was a great place. Produce has been garbage lately onions rotten, corn damaged or old, peppers had mold in the inside. Tried the Patty's or Peggy's Potato salad last week. The potatoes weren't cooked and there was enough paprika on the top to choke a horse. Had to cut pieces of rot off the "fresh MacBeth Farm Corn"
For such a small groceries store, the prices for the vast majority of food is god awful. Big box stores have way more deal and in general lower prices. A bag of apples shouldn't be 8-9$ when it's 5 or 6$ anywhere else.
Smaller grocery store but well stocked shelves & friendly staff. Some hard to find items can be found here - couldn't find Certo anywhere else, but Foodland had lots!
I was really pleased with this little place. It's clean, well organized, and has a good variety. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. It has become the place I do the majority of my everyday shopping. I now refer to it as "the pantry."
Keegan had us in stitches thurs eve... We left with huge smiles!!
Some great deals and specials. Aisles feel a bit crowded compared to some other grocery stores. Ceiling was leaking when I was there. Could use a makeover. Staff were friendly and polite.
The art of stacking shelves Despite the overwhelming lack of gratification, Dalton Graves stacks the shelves of food land with pride and dedication. Mr. Graves is able to continue his challenging work because he treats stacking shelves as not a mere job but an artform. Mr. Graves has innovated shelf stacking techniques to new heights. You may wonder, how is Mr. Graves able to achieve such an impressive feat? The answer: his infinite resolve and vigor. I’ve seen days where the snow was stacked up an enormous amount yet Mr. Graves did not throw in the towel; Mr. Graves persevered. There are many more examples of Mr. Graves miracle-working but I need not waste your time. One of the most important things in a high-pressure work environment such as Foodland is keeping a level head under stress. Dalton is a titan of harmony and tranquility in a sea of chaos. Where a good man with a heart of gold would fail, Dalton does the job of an Olympian, hero, firefighter, and father of ten. People like this aren’t ordinary citizens, they are precious gems that any miner would look at and realize they’re set for life. “Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall” Confucius This quote truly shows the essence of Mr. Graves, whenever a grocery item is dropped he does not simply leave it there to rot, he picks it up. He rises. Not only does Mr. Graves pick up grocery items, but he also picks up his fellow man. Mr. Graves is a true team player making sure all perform to the best of their ability. He makes it certain that everyone around him will rise alongside. In conclusion, Mr. Graves is an astounding worker who does and I’m certain will continue to set an example for aspiring shelf managers to come. He is why I am giving Foodland a full five out of five stars.
Efficient cashier staff! Some prices could be lower....lots of cash strapped seniors in that captive location!!!
Nice small store with lots of local produce. Prices are great, they have nice sales when paying attention and staff are always amazingly friendly and kind. As with everywhere now COVID has changed the way businesses operate, this location has arrows on the floors but can be a little tight when in the aisles and others don't obey, no fault of the store but fault of the customers. One thing I would like to see change is the cashier's wearing latex gloves without sanitizing, far too many times the cashier's are wearing gloves and handling the customers money in front of you and they do NOT wash or sanitize their hands in between customers, they in turn then touch all your groceries and what every customer ahead of you have touched is now also all over your groceries, this is a potential risk to the health of customers. Simply sanitize your hands between each customer, instead of wearing latex gloves?? Other than that foodland is and will always be our go to store, the staff are great!
