Me? I'm there before opening to close my safe deposit box. I'm waiting outside, on one of the social distancing spots, when one of the bankers - not a teller - opens the door. I ask if I should continue to wait until 9am when the bank actually opens. She says, "no, come in, we can help you". So, I walk up to the teller window and tell this second person that I want to close my safe deposit box - I note the time - 8:47am. She says that one of the bankers has to handle that, and please wait in the waiting area. They've been kind enough to remove ALL of the furniture in the area, so I'm standing. I see the teller walk over to the banker who starts shaking her head before the teller even gets there. After their conversation, the teller, who is very helpful, says that I'll need to wait for a few minutes, the banker has a client appointment and that another banker comes in at 9am. I say no problem, of course - it's now 8:51am. At 8:55am, the second banker enters. Walks into a wall office, looks at me waiting, immediately breaks her gaze, and walks over to a cubicle and sits down. I can see her surfing the web. At 9am, a third banker walks in. Goes into the Preferred Client office, walks out 2 minutes later. Asks me if I need assistance. "I'm here to close my safe deposit box". Banker 1 - on her computer, no client has shown up. Banker 2 - still surfing the web. Banker 3? Smiles, nods, walks right past me and sits down in another wall office. It's now 9:03am. I wait. I wait a little more. I wait a lot more. At 9:17am, I walk up to the teller area and say that I don't understand - there have been two more bankers that have arrived, one that is surfing the web, the other who ignored me, and the original banker is still waiting fo a client that was supposed to show at 9am. "Closing a safe deposit box should take 5 minutes - what is the deal here? "Sir, we can take your information and set up an appointment..." "Why do I need an appointment when there are three people here to help me, and none of them are doing it - these are walk-in hours, correct?" "Yes" "Then I will just get my stuff out of the box and mail the keys here." "We may need you to sign documents, that's why an appointment will be necessary." "I'm sorry, you'll have to creatively solve the problem, because I have already presented myself to close my box, and I won't be back." In short, these entitled bankers have a serious. complete lack of customer focus. It's probably ruined my opinion of Chase forever. District management needs to come in and throw the lot out.
This is the worst chase location and bank in general I have ever been to. Every time I have to come in the experience is worst than the last. 45 minute wait for a 30 second interaction with the teller. I'm canceling my account with chase just so I never have to come here again.
I came here to deposit a check and get a new card and received so much attitude during my visit for not having my card or account number. & then was being asked to verify information that the teller already had in front of her that I provided. I received much better service at the aptos location. Will continue to go there.
On-line I read said Chace open until 2:00 Sat. I went at 1:00. It closed at noon! Hours on the door say 12:00. Open THREE HOURS on a Sat. What's the point?! Not helpful at all and when you do get in typically there is a line and Ling wait for few tellers.
If you are new to the area or are considering a change in banking, Chase is the place. Eloisa Naranjo helped me open new accounts and was exceptionally thorough. Her patience and understanding exceeded my expectations. Elena Hawk also assisted me upon my second visit and she met all of my needs and made financial recommendations to me for future options. I recommend making an appointment using Chase online or services number. The parking lot can fill up but there is additional in lower lot.
I just opened my first business account at Chase Bank in Capitola and had the BEST experience! Elena Hawk, Relationship Banker Officer, walked me through all the steps today in about an hour. She was professional, SO nice, explained things clearly and was just a pleasure to work with all around. I would definitely recommend Chase and request Elena specifically!
lazy people at this branch. all I needed was to be added onto an account and it was preauthorized. they told me no bankers were available for a few days. unbelievable. Alessandro, the branch manager was just sitting there fiddling his thumbs, but wouldn't help me even after I asked him. i have worked im banking and when there are no bankers available, the branch manager should help. with all the money I have at this bank, pretty terrible customer experience.
Only had one teller on a Saturday afternoon when the Ocean St. branch was closed. Please hire more people. Also, I know there's a quarter shortage but I need to do laundry :
Chase always has great service and has a very clean and friendly atmosphere. The parking location is a little inconvenient to get to, but I've never spent more than 5 or 10 minutes waiting in any line here.
Ryan and another blond manager were very friendly, but everyone else here has been rude or disinterested every time I've gone. The place is always too busy to get things done in a reasonable amount of time.
