So thankful for this organization! I needed a little help with food as I have been off work due to a medical issue. My first visit to the food bank was today and everyone I encountered was super friendly. John was my personal shopper and made the experience less intimidating. He even loaded the food in my car! If you’re struggling to buy food, call them.
The staff is really friendly, from the time you go in the door until they load your car. Always good food in the boxes !
Our dept volunteered some time to help box food and we loved it! The people are so nice!
Even though it wasn't the place to receive Food the employees there were very giving and understanding of my situation and directed me in the proper direction
Lots of volunteers devoting their time. Well organized facility. Thank you everyone for your hard works.
I am very grateful for this program. It has really helped my brother.
Granted the food bank can not help what they are given because it’s on a donation based however when you all bring in volunteers that say they want to help the needy…. They should be taught to fix boxes according to meals and what a meal looks like for a family.. People shouldn’t assume because we “need” help or food that we will just except anything . I’ve had to complain several times about the poor service at times . spoiled milk, molDed food It shows … years ago when the food bank was behind the police department you actually got food and yes I know that different companies don’t donate anymore or they’ve moved out of Tennessee but as much food as some of these companies throw away that are here… there should be more of a demand to help the Needy and educate people who have money to help the less fortunate. People that have money never worry about going without because they don’t or never had to. But we are all Gods children and we are supposed to help each other … And if you all was given the food choices we get you would probably change your attitude and help others other than take or not try . I’m disabled and went to the food bank one day and a young girl I asked to help me told me she couldn’t lift boxes because she hurt her back … so I had to do lifting and I don’t understand why she was even “volunteering” with back problems? She was very young and just didn’t seem like she wanted to be there. I’m just disappointed because if I’m sick and disabled and try daily why do others assume they don’t have to … ? Or make excuses why they can’t do better It’s all about effort !
I ll be trucking in a load of cereal, the good, grown up nutritious kind General Mills,I read a lot of complaints in the reviews,I don t think the food bank has much say so into what they can donate,as I understand it they give what they get donated,I ve trucked in different loads to different cities, canned goods, pastas, cereal, meats,we ourselves some times don t get paid a lot for trucking them in,but it s all good, food banks help the communities they serve,so I am good. This is not a review, just be thankful.
If you want to donate food or money look up the pantries in the area on their website and give directly to those pantries run by volunteers, that way your money is used to buy food not pay salaries. Your wasting your money otherwise, it’s just like United Way. I admit I love Rene an her team but at there ware house location I was turned off by the rudeness of a lady named Jenifer. I will not be donating anything here anymore.
A wonderful place that helps so many people in the Chattanooga area. Also a great place to volunteer to serve the community.
