So sad to see this beautiful mall almost completely empty. There is only one anchor store left, JCPenny. Many empty tenets. There are still stores there and a movie theater but not a lot of foot traffic. There wasn't even a food court to attract customers. These photos were taken on a Friday evening in July.
DO NOT come here if you: - are a person of color - are a trucker - plan to spend a long amount of time shopping, patronizing multiple businesses in the area, etc. Security WILL harrass you and make you feel VERY unwelcome for staying "too long." While spending money/time at 3 different businesses in a 4-hour period, I was told twice when I was back at my vehicle that I needed to leave. The reason cited was this supposed policy: unless I am actively inside a business, I must leave. I plan to NEVER spend another dime or minute in this county or this mall. This mural painted on the side of JC Penny says, to me, what and who is prioritized here.
Lost the front end of my car three miles down in the parking lot craters. 10/10 say you should maintain the building better.
This is a dead mall. I’ll bet it was vibrant back in the day. We had fun while we were there. We would go back. If you can’t find it in the mall, the shopping district is literally seconds away. Penney’s is the only anchor store. Sears and Bon Ton are gone. Chinese buffet was awesome. Only rating 2 bc lack of tenants.
it's a great place to walk there's no more stores
As always the mall is well kept clean and social distancing practices were in place. The store selection has dwindled over the years through no no fault of the mall. However the stores that are left offer great services. I frequent the mall to get my nails done and often find myself wandering. Thanks for all you do to keep the mall running!
I like this mall! Very clean place and very nice customer service at each store i went in to, the workers in every store that I went into were helpful and friendly! I like how this mall has a movie theatre as well, i find that very neat, i don't see very many malls with movie theatres in them anymore. Some of the few things to this mall that are missing is, i think they need a few more clothing stores, the clothing stores inside this mall are decent, but they definitely need more and the food court area seems so empty, they need more food to choose from when it comes to the food court. When I went inside the mall, it wasn't so busy, i mean it was a weekday when I went that's probably why but it was relaxing, i came here from out of town, my hometown is an hour from here and their is a mall here as well, but I wanted to go somewhere different, so I came here, i would honestly love to come back again! :
The Mall and grounds are nice. If you're parked in the parking lot during a rain storm though, good luck!! The lot is notorious for ponding water, like literally a pond's worth of water. They've never ever fixed the problem. Most of the store fronts are empty now but they're doing there best to perpetuate "The Mall" culture.
There are still quite a few stores in this mall, and wished that they're good business could continue. Unfortunately with online ordering it has decreased the business of the stores located in many of the malls across America or shopping plazas. I find this to be disheartening as it's nice oh, it is convenient to browse through stuff on your phone or on your computer and order it have it delivered, but there's still there's something lacking from shopping this way. Being able to go in and try on clothes that you see I feel it still a better way of buying. For some stuff bike parts or washing machines and dryers Etc, it's perfectly all right you get a description that is what you should be getting. But, for a real shopping experience you need to go to a store where you can see touch feel Tryon.
While walking the mall at 10:15, waiting on my fiance to get her nails done, I was approached by a man who told me I had to go back down by the nail salon to wait. I went back down to the nail salon where I was again approached by the same man who told me I had to actually wait INSIDE the small nail salon with 5 other people. He identified himself as Cory, the manager of operations of the mall. He stated it was a rule they had to follow so the mall could stay open. Apparently the large open area of the mall is unsafe before 11:00 and it is much safer to force everyone into a small nail salon until then. Why is a tenant of the mall with no outside entrance able to be open while the mall is "closed?"
