Cherchez La Femme is a phrase coined in 1850's detective fiction, and simply put means anytime there is a problem, there is a woman involved. This cliche is found throughout detective fiction from all time periods.
Cherchez is about highlighting women and their ability to create ripples and change in the world around them, through art, expression, love and actions.
The brain child of Nikky Bell and Juanita Mondragon, we wanted an avenue to showcase the amazing women who grace Louisville with the beauty of their art, their words, their smiles and their hearts.
All mediums of art are featured, including painting, drawing, digital art, sculpture, performance art, spoken word, dance, music, jewelry and so much more.
