The boat building school was founded in 1989 and has members from several nearby counties. We meet every Tuesday night from 7-9:30pm at the boat school located across from the Upper Bay Museum in the Northeast Town Park.
Over the years, we have held classes in the old post office building in Havre de Grace, as well as the Seneca cannery building. The school is now located in the North East Community Park.
The goal of the school was, and continues to be, to teach wooden boat building skills using readily accessible materials as one way to perpetuate the maritime heritage of the Upper Chesapeake region.
