I have been here before. I took my father here for Father's Day. As expected, we did have to wait to be seated but it was only half hour. Once seated the waitress took care of us. Owner and staff are very nice and accommodating. They work so hard. The food was delicious as always. So if you are looking for a quick meal, check when off time is. You will have to wait. They do take reservations. I didn't know that. Space isn't big but it is quaint and I love it. The Food is Worth the Wait!
Stopped in after running some errands with my boyfriend and friend. A little wait 5-10 min. before being seated but not bad. The Halloween decorations were really cute and festive. Food was amazing. Especially the home style potatoes. Very well flavored, probably with rosemary.
Hidden Gem. Nestled at the corner of Passaic and Chestnut is this lovely cafe/diner. Never realized there is a cafe here even though I’ve passed this place so many times. Found this on google while looking for breakfast places. Very polite and cordial staff. Food was great. Large menu - typical diner style to choose from. I’d say a little different from your regular commercial diners. Will keep going back. Don’t miss if you haven’t been here yet. Parking: Parking is behind the cafe on Chestnut Street.
Love the food and the atmosphere here. Friendly and welcoming staff. I ordered Hungry Human, two eggs, french toast, sausage, egg and potatoes Definitely will come back again.
Just sending a shout-out to this amazing place. I rely on a service animal, and they were so amazing with me and my family this morning. They respected me, they respected Phoenix. We were seated appropriately....there were no issues on any level about this accommodation. And on top of it we had a great breakfast....
Our first time was amazing. Mike O was our server and he was super attentive and friendly. Chestnut cafe made us feel right at home. Food was also delicious Kid-friendliness: My son loved the chocolate shake and mozzarella sticks
The food is great, the staff is consistently friendly and accommodating, and it’s a fun, homey, comfortable environment. Family-friendly without getting loud and riotous. I’m a fan! Kid-friendliness: My favorite place to take my toddler to breakfast. They offer a small dedicated kid’s menu with crayons and are always very friendly to us.
We kind of just visited by chance. The location, ambiance, and old style vibes are definitely unique and worth visiting. We visited on a weekday so it was very low-key and serene. Service was absolutely friendly, attentive and very quick. It definitely had the make up of a great experience but here I am writing this just about a week out and I am unable to remember our meal. I can recall all these other details which speak volumes about the service and location. Unfortunately, while we enjoyed our meal, it was not memorable or anything out of the ordinary. I would say it's a good breakfast spot and worth a shot if in the area. I know I will give another shot if I am ever nearby just solely based on the staff and atmosphere.
Great diner. Excellent food. Highly recommend. They have outdoor sitting.
Very adorable and vintage cafe! I love eating outside in the spring or summer. The staff are very kind, friendly, and approachable. The food also tastes super delicious! Especially their breakfast food. I really enjoyed coming here and I'm certainly coming back again. Also, their prices are way better than Sugar Tree's. Overall, I really love this place, and you will too!
