The Cheviot Police Explorers Post is a group of young men and women who meet weekly to learn about a career in law enforcement.
The Cheviot Police Department offers a program for young men and women (between the ages of 14 and 21 who are in at least the 9th grade) to participate in the Law Enforcement Explorer Program. The program offers training in patrol and investigative procedures that are used by Police Officers and the Explorers may participate in a ride-along program. In addition, the Police Explorers assist the members of the Cheviot Police Department with various community programs, including parade details, the Westside Streetfest, the Harvest Home Fair and other Crime Prevention Events.
The mission of the Cheviot Police Department Explorers Program is to maintain a safe city by working in partnership with the community to prevent and reduce crime, protect life and property, help resolve neighborhood problems, and protect the rights of all.
