Chiao Hsin Chinese Language School has more than 25 years of history in the San Gabriel Valley of Southern California.
The Chinese Mandarin School started in 1981 in a small church in Alhambra. In July of 1990 we became a non-profit school and was renamed Chiao Hsin Chinese Language School. Today, we have over 150 students, 8 classes and 19 teachers and staff members.
It takes 10 years to grow a tree but 100 years to grow a giant. We know that it takes time for children to truly learn a language and appreciate the Chinese culture. We apply this attitude in our teaching of the Chinese language, culture, wisdom and character.
We use a wide range of teaching materials and comprehensive textbooks. In hopes of sparking the student's love for learning, our school has become a mini library. All of our Chinese teachers have exceptional credentials, graduating from Chinese Universities and have experience in education. Every teacher puts tremendous efforts into their lessons and teaches each student with kindness and patience.
Our classes teach Mandarin and traditional Chinese starting with basic Chinese phonics. Teachers also teach pinyin to reinforce correct pronunciation of the Chinese language. Chiao Hsin also provides an art class, supplementary math classes, and a SAT class.
Chiao Hsin Chinese Language School’s mission is to celebrate traditional Chinese culture through education, language instruction, and community. Through its afterschool program and partnerships with local school districts, Chiao Hsin Chinese Language School strives to provide opportunities for the region’s K-12 students of all backgrounds to appreciate and learn the Chinese language in an environment that fosters cultural understanding, a passion for learning, and positive character.
